Waddah Attar Explosion Pro MT5 is a momentum and volatility indicator for MetaTrader 5. It combines a MACD based momentum histogram with Bollinger Bands volatility and a Dead Zone filter, so you can read trend strength and volatility expansion at a glance. It is a modern, redesigned version of the classic Waddah Attar Explosion, rebuilt for clarity and daily trading on any symbol and any timeframe.

How it works
The colored histogram measures momentum, both direction and strength, using a MACD based calculation with an adjustable Sensitivity. The Explosion line measures volatility expansion from the width of the Bollinger Bands. The Dead Zone line marks a minimum threshold that filters out quiet, low volatility conditions. When a histogram bar rises above the Explosion line, momentum is strong enough to be called an explosion. When the bars stay small and below the line, the market is quiet.

The gradient histogram

  • Dark green: bullish momentum building, below the line.
  • Bright red: strong bearish momentum.
  • Dark red: bearish momentum building.

How to use
Bullish reading: bright green bars breaking above the Explosion line show strong buying momentum; look for long setups in agreement with your own trend method.

Bearish reading: bright red bars breaking above the Explosion line show strong selling momentum; look for short setups.

Stay aside when bars are small and near or below the Dead Zone line, because volatility is low and many moves fail.

When bars shrink back below the Explosion line, momentum is weakening, which can be used to manage or close a position.

For best results, combine it with your own trend direction, support and resistance, and strict risk management.
