Overview
Kiwi Cat Dual Mode Portfolio MT4 is a multi-strategy Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 4 built around a Dual Mode portfolio architecture.
Instead of relying on one trading strategy, Kiwi Cat combines 10 independently controlled strategies, divided into two separate portfolio modes.
Each strategy can be switched ON or OFF individually, allowing traders to build a configuration that matches their preferred trading style and risk level.

Dual Mode Trading
Kiwi Cat divides its trading engine into two independently controlled portfolios.
Mode 1 — Active Portfolio
Mode 1 contains five individual strategies and uses the more active internal trading profile.
Default configuration:
-
Mode 1: ON
-
Strategies available: 5
-
Maximum Mode 1 Drawdown: 25%
-
Internal EMA confirmation: OFF
-
Internal ADX confirmation: Frequent profile
-
Internal Ichimoku confirmation: OFF
Every Mode 1 strategy can be individually enabled or disabled.
Mode 2 — Selective Portfolio
Mode 2 contains another five strategies using a more selective internal confirmation profile.
Default configuration:
-
Mode 2: OFF
-
Strategies available: 5
-
Maximum Mode 2 Drawdown: 50%
-
Internal EMA confirmation: ON
-
Internal ADX confirmation: Conservative profile
-
Internal Ichimoku confirmation: OFF
Users can activate Mode 2 independently or operate both portfolios together.
10 Individually Controlled Strategies
Kiwi Cat provides flexible control over the complete strategy portfolio.
Users can operate:
-
Mode 1 only
-
Mode 2 only
-
Both modes together
-
Selected Mode 1 strategies
-
Selected Mode 2 strategies
-
A customized combination from both portfolios
The Maximum Simultaneous Strategies setting adds another layer of exposure control by limiting how many strategies may participate at the same time.
Portfolio Protection
Kiwi Cat includes multiple risk-management layers designed to supervise portfolio exposure.
Independent Mode Drawdown
Mode 1 and Mode 2 have their own maximum drawdown settings.
This allows the two portfolios to be controlled separately rather than relying entirely on one account-wide limit.
Master Emergency Drawdown
A separate Master Emergency DD provides an additional account-level protection layer.
Cooldown Management
When a configured protection condition is triggered, the EA can enter a cooldown period before allowing trading to resume.
Default cooldown:
4 Hours
These controls are designed to reduce uncontrolled portfolio exposure during difficult market conditions.
Money Management
Kiwi Cat provides two primary lot-sizing methods.
Fixed Lot
The EA uses the lot size selected by the trader.
Example:
Fixed Lot = 0.01
Lot Per Balance
Position size can automatically scale according to account balance.
Default:
0.01 lot per 500 balance
This provides an alternative to manually increasing or decreasing the fixed lot as account size changes.
Users should select money-management settings appropriate for their account size and acceptable risk.
Recovery Multiplier
Kiwi Cat includes an optional Recovery Multiplier for strategy-level recovery management.
Default:
1.0
At 1.0, lot multiplication is effectively disabled.
Increasing the multiplier increases position exposure and therefore also increases risk. Higher values should be tested carefully before live use.
Fixed M15 Signal Logic
Kiwi Cat uses an internal:
M15 Signal Timeframe
The trading logic is therefore designed around M15 signals rather than simply following whichever timeframe happens to be open on the chart.
For straightforward monitoring and setup, an M15 chart is recommended.
Market Session Protection
The EA includes a trading-session guard designed to avoid inappropriate trade operations when the broker's market session is unavailable.
This helps reduce unnecessary trading requests around:
-
Daily trading breaks
-
Weekends
-
Closed market sessions
-
Other broker-defined unavailable trading periods
Automated Portfolio Management
Once configured, Kiwi Cat automatically monitors its enabled strategies and portfolio controls.
The system handles:
-
Strategy activation
-
Trade monitoring
-
Portfolio exposure
-
Lot sizing
-
Drawdown supervision
-
Emergency protection
-
Cooldown management
-
Trading-session checks
This allows multiple strategies to operate through one centralized EA.
