Atropos Gold is an automated trading system built around a proprietary market-behavior model rather than simple indicator crossovers or conventional lagging-indicator signals.

The objective is not to create an unrealistic historical chart with an extraordinary win rate or an artificially perfect equity curve.

The objective is to trade a defined market logic, manage positions systematically, and give the trader clear control over position sizing, profit management, protection, execution and drawdown behavior.

The internal entry model is proprietary. Users control the risk and trade-management framework while Atropos Gold handles the trading process automatically.

A Realistic Approach

Markets change.

Volatility changes. Liquidity changes. Market sentiment changes. Trading conditions change.

A configuration that performs extremely well during one historical period may behave differently during another.

For this reason, Atropos Gold is not presented as a system that must produce exceptional results during every market environment.

A weak historical period does not automatically mean that a trading system has stopped working, just as an excellent historical result does not guarantee future profitability.

The recommended approach is to backtest carefully, compare different periods, understand the drawdown and trade behavior, and select settings that suit your own account and risk tolerance.

Continued research and development are an important part of Atropos Gold. Updates may be introduced when meaningful changes in market behavior justify improvements to the system.

There is no promise of guaranteed profit.

Recommended Trading Environment

Platform: MetaTrader 5
Primary Timeframe: M5
Account Type: RAW / ECN highly recommended
Minimum Recommended Balance: $1,000
Preferred Balance: $5,000 or higher

A reputable low-spread RAW or ECN trading environment is strongly recommended.

IC Markets RAW is one example of a suitable trading environment.

Atropos Gold does not technically restrict the instrument on which it can be tested or used. Users are encouraged to perform their own backtesting before using the EA on any instrument.

Execution quality, spreads, commissions, contract specifications and historical data can affect results.

Prop-Firm Accounts

Atropos Gold can also be used with prop-firm accounts where automated trading is permitted.

The user remains responsible for configuring position sizing and drawdown protection according to the rules of the individual prop firm.

Different firms may apply different requirements relating to maximum daily loss, total drawdown, automated trading, hedging, news trading and holding positions.

Always verify the current rules of your prop firm before trading.

Recommended Testing Process

Before using real funds:

1. Run Atropos Gold in the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester.
2. Prefer Every Tick Based on Real Ticks when sufficient broker history is available.
3. Test more than one historical period.
4. Begin with the default settings.
5. Change one major parameter at a time.
6. Compare profit, drawdown, trade count and overall behavior.
7. Avoid selecting settings only because they generated the highest historical profit.
8. Run the selected configuration on a demo account before moving to live trading.

The best configuration is not necessarily the one producing the most attractive backtest.

A good configuration is one whose behavior and risk you understand and can tolerate.

01. Trading Controls

Enable Trading

Enables or disables new automated entries.

When disabled, Atropos Gold does not open new positions.

Allow Buy Trades

Allows or blocks new BUY positions.

Allow Sell Trades

Allows or blocks new SELL positions.

These controls can be used when the trader temporarily wants to restrict execution to one direction.

Maximum Entry Delay Seconds

Default: 90 seconds

Defines how long a confirmed trading opportunity remains executable.

This helps prevent an old opportunity from being executed after a terminal interruption, reconnection or execution delay.

02. Lot Sizing

Balance Required For Each 0.01 Base Lot

Default: 1000

This is the primary balance-based position-sizing control.

For example:

With a $10,000 balance and a setting of 1000, the calculated base position size is approximately:

0.10 lot

A higher Balance Required value produces smaller position sizes.

A lower value produces larger position sizes and therefore greater exposure.

Any adjustment should be backtested carefully.

Adaptive Position Sizing

The balance calculation represents the EA's base position size.

Atropos Gold may automatically reduce the actual trading volume when its internal risk assessment determines that more conservative exposure is appropriate.

For example, a calculated base position of 0.10 lot may occasionally be reduced automatically.

This adjustment is handled internally and requires no additional user configuration.

The EA also automatically respects the broker's permitted minimum volume, maximum volume and lot-size step.

03. Profit Management

Atropos Gold uses normalized management values.

In practical terms:

Lower values = tighter management.
Higher values = more room for the trade.

First Target Value

Default: 2.00

The first target is the initial trade-management milestone.

First Target Close Percentage

Default: 0%

At the default setting, reaching the first target does not partially close the position.

The complete position remains active while the next protection stage is enabled.

Users who prefer partial profit taking can increase this percentage and backtest the resulting behavior.

Break Even Plus Value

Default: 1.50

After the first target condition is achieved, the EA can protect the position beyond its original entry instead of simply moving the stop exactly to break even.

Small Lot First Target Action

Some brokers use minimum trading volumes that may make a requested partial close impossible.

This option controls what the EA should do in that situation.

Trailing Start Value

Default: 3.00

Defines when trailing protection becomes active.

Trailing Distance Value

Default: 0.25

Controls the distance maintained between the protective stop and the best favorable movement reached by the trade.

Trailing Update Step Value

Default: 0.25

Defines how much additional favorable movement is required before the trailing stop is updated again.

Different trailing configurations can produce significantly different behavior. Backtesting is strongly recommended before changing these parameters.

04. Stop Loss Protection

Atropos Gold includes two independent protective mechanisms.

They can be enabled or disabled separately.

Automatic Emergency Stop

Default: Enabled

This is the main broker-side emergency protection.

Its purpose is to protect the position from unusually adverse movement when normal trade management has not already closed it.

The calculation is handled automatically by Atropos Gold.

Once successfully placed, the stop exists at the broker and can therefore remain active during temporary terminal, VPS or internet interruptions.

First Bar Failure Stop

Default: Disabled

This is an optional faster protection mechanism designed to react when a newly opened trade shows significant adverse behavior during its entry M5 candle.

First Bar Failure Value

Default: 5.00

This does not mean a $5 monetary loss.

It is a normalized movement value used by the EA.

If the M5 entry candle finishes adversely by at least the configured amount before the first target has been achieved, this protection can close the trade.

A lower value makes the protection tighter and more sensitive.

A higher value gives the trade more room.

For example:

3.00 → tighter protection
5.00 → normal reference setting
7.00 → more room before intervention

Because different traders may prefer different levels of early protection, this feature is disabled by default.

Manual Stop-Loss Control

Users may manually adjust the stop loss of an open Atropos Gold position.

If a manually placed stop provides stronger protection, Atropos Gold respects it and does not intentionally move it backward to a weaker level.

If Automatic Emergency Stop is enabled and the protective stop is completely removed, the EA can restore emergency protection.

Break-even and trailing management may later tighten the stop further when their conditions are satisfied.

05. Drawdown Protection

Drawdown Protection is optional.

Default: Disabled

Maximum Drawdown Percentage

Default: 10%

The EA monitors account equity relative to the current account balance.

Three actions are available.

Alert Only

The user receives a warning when the selected drawdown level is reached.

Managed positions remain open.

Close Managed Trades + Stop

When the configured drawdown is reached:

• Atropos Gold closes its managed positions.
• The user receives an alert.
• New Atropos Gold entries are stopped.

To intentionally resume trading, remove the EA and attach it again.

Close Managed Trades + Continue

When the configured drawdown is reached:

• Atropos Gold closes its managed positions.
• The user receives an alert.
• A fresh post-close reference state is established.
• Normal trading can continue.

Drawdown protection should not be considered a replacement for appropriate position sizing.

06. Broker and Time Settings

Broker Time Mode

Default: Automatic

Atropos Gold attempts to determine the correct broker-time environment automatically.

Alternative manual modes are available when required:

• New York Close Broker
• European Daylight Saving
• Fixed UTC Offset

For normal operation, Automatic is recommended.

Fixed or Winter Broker UTC Offset

Used when a manual time configuration requires a fixed offset.

Show Broker Time Status on Panel

Displays the current broker-time status on the performance panel.

07. Spread and Execution

Use Spread Filter

Default: Disabled

When enabled, new trades are blocked when spread exceeds the configured maximum.

Maximum Allowed Spread Points

Default: 50

Used when the Spread Filter is enabled.

Maximum Slippage Points

Default: 30

Controls the maximum requested execution deviation.

Magic Number

Default: 709005

Used internally to identify positions belonging to Atropos Gold.

Normally this should not be changed unless the trader has a specific reason.

08. Performance Panel

The Atropos Gold performance panel is enabled by default.

It displays:

Daily P/L
Total P/L
Broker Time Status

The calculation follows positions originally opened by Atropos Gold.

Manual closing, broker stop-loss execution and EA-managed exits are included when they belong to an Atropos Gold position.

Hedging and Netting Accounts

Atropos Gold automatically detects the MetaTrader account type.

No manual account-mode configuration is required.

Hedging Accounts

Multiple independent Atropos Gold positions may remain open when separate valid opportunities occur.

BUY and SELL positions can coexist when supported by the account.

Each position is managed independently.

Netting Accounts

Atropos Gold permits one managed position at a time.

A new Atropos Gold position is not opened until the existing managed position has been completely closed.

Restart and Connection Recovery

Atropos Gold includes position-recovery logic for normal trading interruptions such as:

• MetaTrader restart
• EA reattachment
• recompilation
• VPS restart
• temporary internet disconnection

When operation resumes, Atropos Gold first reconciles existing managed positions before accepting new trading opportunities.

Existing broker-side stops remain subject to the broker's normal server-side execution.

Software-based actions such as new trailing adjustments cannot operate while MetaTrader itself is offline.

Market Conditions Change

Markets do not behave identically forever.

Volatility changes.

Sentiment changes.

Liquidity conditions change.

Execution conditions change.

For this reason, continued research is part of the Atropos Gold development process.

Updates may be introduced when testing and market observation identify meaningful improvements.

Before Going Live

A sensible process is:

Backtest.
Use your own broker's historical data.

Compare different periods.
Do not judge the EA using only one particularly strong or weak period.

Adjust management carefully.
Change one important parameter at a time.

Run on demo.
Observe actual execution and trade management.

Move to live trading only after understanding the EA's behavior and risk.
