Discussion of article "Payments and payment methods" - page 198

Good day, I am am experiencing the same frustrating issue from using both withdrawal methods master card and web money. The feedback that I have received from both are that the payment provider that MQL5 uses do not support my region, South Africa. Attached the screen shot from the web money help desk.

Drevnyi_2.0 # Hi everyone, everyone has a question about withdrawing funds. And I have a question about topping up my account? Maybe it's somewhere on the forum, please send me the link.

Good day,

I experienced withdrawal problems with "transaction denied by issuing bank" messages several times over the last few days. I tried a different card from a different bank and the withdrawal process was successful. Based on this experience, I believe the problems start with the banks.

However, I also discovered there may be a broader regulatory factor at play. In late October 2025, SARB (South African Reserve Bank) quietly published updated rules representing a material tightening of exchange control requirements, with mandatory linkage of exchange control clearance to tax compliance for any South African-sourced income. This means payment processors may be blocking certain South African banks to avoid compliance issues.

So the denials could be due to:

  1. Individual bank policies on international payments
  2. Some banks being better equipped to handle the new SARB compliance requirements than others
  3. Payment processors selectively blocking certain South African banks due to these regulatory changes

My advice to other South African users: If you're experiencing withdrawal denials, try using a card from a different bank. It worked for me.

For the community: Which South African banks are you successfully using for MQL5 withdrawals? It would help others to know which banks are processing these transactions without issues.

Please make me a withdrawal card.

If I am a Russian citizen, will MQL5 take value added tax from me when buying any product?

As far as I know VAT is charged to EU buyers only.

Hi everyone, I’ve submitted a support ticket regarding an account verification notification, but I haven’t received a response yet. Could you please confirm whether verification is required every time a withdrawal is requested from an MQL account? The auto-reply mentioned that someone would get back to me within three days, but I’m still awaiting an update.

Additional verification is usually required on the first withdrawal, so this is not something abnormal.

The usual response time of the Service Desk is around a week.
