What's new in MetaTrader 4 and MQL4 - big changes on the way - page 61

No luck today

Renat:

They wanted to release the beta IDE (MetaEditor + MQL4/5 Compiler) today, but postponed it until Monday-Tuesday. We need to fix some minor details.

The MQL4 compiler, as well as the MQL5 one, includes the mql.exe command line tool. Now one compiler can compile both MQL4 and MQL5 code.

It would be good if the possibility of spot testing with real floating spreads in MT4 was made in-house, without any extraneous features. Sorry if this topic has already been raised. For qualitative testing we need a ticked history with real spreads. Half solutions are not suitable. Of course, without eliminating the possibility of using your own history in the tester and on the charts. Most pro traders will thank you for that.

Pot history is a dubious plus, but spreads are certainly needed.

The tick history is a dubious plus, but spreads are needed of course.

Spread changes on every tick and everyone trades on ticks in real time, not (for example) minute bars with the same spread in 1 minute (as done in the MetaTrader 5 tester)

or does not change at all (as is done in the MetaTrader 4 Strategy Tester).

The lack of tick-testing is beneficial for dishonest brokerage companies - hiding their manipulations inside M1 candles,

dishonest brokerage companies also benefit from the absence of a real tick (minute) history of this brokerage company for the same reason.

The ticks may change depending on quotation filtering, and the MT platform itself is not designed to handle ticks in history in a normal way.

The server emulator or the server itself would solve all the problems, while the terminal would be a crutch on crutches.

If you need ticks, you may go to Dooku, tick history, depo from one kilobuck, opening through a Russian bank. And working with ticks via MT is perverse masochism.

When will we be able to see it?

because they put up Carrot-top and pump it back and forth... Tomorrow or not tomorrow...

Stop rushing the developers.
First they get rushed, then they get cursed for having bugs.

What's the big deal, you can wait with the terminal... they are the ones in a hurry to get the market going.

It's clear that it is, but what I don't understand is your opinion about it:

I think it would be good if they made possibility to do tick-testing with real floating spread in MT4 without any extraneous gimmicks. Sorry, if this topic has already been touched. For qualitative testing we need a purely ticky-ticky history with real spreads. Half solutions are not suitable. In other words, what will be bad for traders if this possibility appears, why the "questionable advantage"? I do not understand this logic.

And the ticks can be taken (for money or recorded by oneself) and then tested on exchange quotes (e.g. futures) for further trading on exchanges, and not only in DCs that are like real ECNs.

If you don't want it, don't use it, no one is forcing you to test it on M1 - MN.

If only the platform poured whisky, then it would be a good opportunity, but as it is, the MT4 platform is good enough. You can't just add ticks, glasses, volumes. The architecture just didn't provide for that.

And even if they appear, what will it change? Profits? On serious sites, MT is like a saddle on a cow. And on non-serious ones, the ticks will be quickly brushed off.
