If you use WinXP, you can try Microsoft SMTP Service. It's free as well.

I got a new error message with the similar setting as yours (using the free SMTP server)

Mail: 550 Invalid recipient:

this appears couple minutes after the I hit the "Test' button.

Any idea?

Email Alert problems.

Hi,

I am testing Email Alerts on my Laptop and am running into multiple issues.

First, a good and free SMTP server. Once I found something, my Hotmail account rejects the emails saying it cannot accept relays as shown in the log below.

"220 bay0-mc9-f22.bay0.hotmail.com Sending unsolicited commercial or bulk e-mail to Microsoft's computer network is prohibited. Other restrictions are found at http://privacy.msn.com/Anti-spam/. Violations will result in use of equipment located in California and other states. Mon, 11 May 2009 00:47:59 -0700 "

So, what kind of email accounts do you guys use to prevent these problems?

It is called like this:

This works perfectly. Is there a way to actually use the passed emailFrom string? This call is always setting the sender to the gmailUsername.

Either way, this is excellent. In comparison to the SendMail.dll that uses local email client, this is much faster and independent of local software.

If they do not reply so it is not very interesting for them. People are replying if interesting. Not for you. It should be interesting for them.

It was some time when the members were very interesting in any VPS and dedicated servers to test or use EAs. After they got what they got so - silence. Next time - it will be once again: many members will be interested in VPS or dedicated servers.

Some people said that the world are developed by cycles or by spiral ... so try next time.
