Firebird EA - page 49

connecting4less:
i am running the firebird with the tf on yen only for the past 3 days and it only did 3 trades

is that normal???

and im running it on IBFX demo and i had the time set to trade from 6 to 15 since it is GMT

can anyone advise me if im doing something wrong?

Yes, it's normal:

2 trades were closed with +4 and +6 pips and one trade is still open with -22 pips. Still open. Statements are attached.

I am testing it with North Finance broker. GMT+3. Timefilter since 8 till 17. It means: EA will open the order since 8 am North Finance server time till 17:59 North Finance server time.

As I know IBFX is on GMT. GMT+0. So, you may set timefilter since 5 till 14.

But please note: this EA was coded on open bar or high/low of the open bar so this EA should perform differently with different brokers. Because high/low of the bar is very different sometimes for IBFX compare with North Finance. Anyway you may compare my trades with yours.

The other suggestion is the following. Firebird with timefilter posted here https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/173367/page15 will not open any trades outside timefilter. That's fine. That is why we are using timefilter. But EA may not process some trades outside timefilter as well. So, you may use this new version https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/173367/page17 with the same present file. Why? More safe for the account.

Just test two versions: the version you are testing now and this version https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/173367/page17 for USDJPY. You may do it: just use different magic number. Open USDJPY chart and attach this new version with the same preset file but with different magic number (any but different).

If you have the same trades for both versions so use new version. Because it will be more safe. Less of risky.

But I did not test this new version so ...

Just for information.

thanks for your reply ND

i will test it and see how it goes

This EA is performing good this week.

Hey ND

i looked at your statment on the USDJPY

yesterday we had different number of entries as im using firebird with time filter

i had a one sell order but you had 2

how come mine only traded once?

never mind i was looking at the one without a time filter

we had same entries on the time filter

which is looking good,

ND do you recommend the nontime filter for the yen?

I am posting the statements in pips, in deposit currency, for EAs with timefilter, for close trades only, for open trades only, by pairs and so on.

Link to download the statements are located on the first post of this thread https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/176044 after the words "Now this link is ...".

The excel files with the performance are attached to the first post of this thread https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/176044

Statememts and excel files are updated every week.

Some comments for my statements. All the statements are understandable because the statements named like that.

- if you see the word "week" in the name of my statement so it means: weekly statement (statement for the week).

- "pips" means statement in pips.

- "open": statement for the open trades to know which trades are open in the time of statement creating. You may see time stamp on each statement.

- "dollars": statement in deposit currency.

- "total": statement from the beginning of the testing period or from the account creating.

- "tf": timefilter.

- usdjpy": statement for usdjpy.

So, if we have name of the statement like this:

open_pips_tf_usdjpy
it means the following: it is the statement in pips for USDJPY for EA with timefilter for open trades only.

The next example:
week_pips_usdjpy

It means the following it is the statement for all closed trades for the week in pips for USDJPY for EA without timefilter.

It was information for everybody

connecting4less,

to decide to use or not to use

you may look at excel file with the performance (attached). Don't look at big number of pips in some week: it is because EA opened more than 80 orders within one day and all of the orders were closed in profit. It's fine. But it is the better just not count this big profit.

I am testing Firebird without timefilter from this post https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/173367/page15

But please note: performance of this EA is fully depends on the market condition (as many other EAs).

so the one im testing with tf is the one that made all the profit???

i see one with tf and one with tf fixed

whats the difference?

It was some discussion on this thread. You may see from the statements and excel file that Firebird with tf and without tf generated +10,000 pips for some weeks. So, some people understood it as a bug. I understood it as open bar crossing (EA was coded on open bar or high/low of the open bar so it means that it was multiplied crossing for example). But some person created this tf fixed. So, this tf fixed was bugged. I tested it for 2 weeks and stopped. It was long time ago. The only one is working is simple tf and simple without tf. And, probable, tf with trailing stop is woking but I did not test it yet (the one i said as more safe).

the one im running has exactly the same results as your history about the tf

so does this one has a trailing stop???

cuz like in the past 2 days it exited based on stop and only one trade hit tp

is this the safe one?
