7+ Years of Live Forex Trading with Night Hawk EA — Real Account Results Since 2019

Most automated trading systems look impressive when they are presented through backtests or a few successful months of live trading.

The real test begins later.

Night Hawk EA has been trading on a real IC Markets account since 2019, accumulating thousands of real trades through different market conditions. This long-term track record is the main reason I continue to develop and maintain the strategy.

Night Hawk was not designed to chase maximum short-term returns. The objective is systematic automated trading with controlled exposure and a moderate risk profile.

How Night Hawk trades

Night Hawk is a fully automated Expert Advisor. Most entries occur during the Asian trading session, when market conditions are often quieter and more suitable for the strategy.

The system uses predefined filters and controls, including:

  • currency-direction exposure control;
  • spread filtering;
  • limits on the number of simultaneously open positions;
  • account-load and drawdown controls;
  • automated entry and position management.

Under certain market conditions, Night Hawk can use additional positions with dynamically calculated spacing between entries.

This type of position management requires careful risk control. Used aggressively, averaging and grid-based approaches can create excessive exposure. Night Hawk uses comparatively restrained settings, and its real-account history demonstrates how this approach has performed over many years rather than only in theoretical testing.

Why the live history matters

A backtest can be optimized.
A short live period can be lucky.
Several years of real trading are much harder to manufacture.

Since 2019, Night Hawk has experienced different volatility regimes, market shocks, quiet periods, losing periods and profitable periods. The complete MQL5 history remains publicly available rather than showing only selected results.

The strategy has now completed thousands of live trades and continues to operate automatically on the same real trading account.

I consider this long-term transparency one of the most important characteristics of the system.

Who is Night Hawk designed for?

Night Hawk is intended for traders and signal subscribers who prefer:

  • automated trading instead of discretionary decisions;
  • a long real-account track record;
  • moderate rather than aggressive risk settings;
  • clearly defined trading rules;
  • transparent historical performance;
  • a strategy that does not need to trade continuously.

There can be periods with relatively little trading activity. This is intentional. The system waits for suitable conditions instead of opening positions simply to remain active.

Recommended conditions

For users running the Expert Advisor directly:

Recommended capital: $1,500–$2,000 per 0.01 lot
Recommended broker: IC Markets or another low-spread ECN broker
Recommended leverage: 1:500 or higher

Low spreads and stable execution are particularly important because the strategy operates mainly during the Asian session.

Two ways to use Night Hawk

Night Hawk is available in two forms on MQL5.

1. Copy the live trading signal

The Signal allows subscribers to copy trades from the existing real Night Hawk account.

2. Run Night Hawk EA on your own MetaTrader account

The Expert Advisor is available through the official MQL5 Market.

Running the EA directly provides more control over capital, lot size and configuration, while the Signal is simpler for users who prefer to copy the existing strategy.

Final thoughts

After many years of algorithmic trading, I believe the most useful information about a trading system is not its best month or its most attractive backtest.

It is how the strategy behaves over time.

Night Hawk has a long public history that includes both profitable periods and difficult market conditions. Anyone considering the strategy can examine the complete statistics, trading history and risk characteristics before making a decision.

The project continues to be maintained with the same objective: disciplined automated trading, controlled risk and long-term operation.

Past performance does not guarantee future results.
