Gold Impulse Volume EA — a fully mechanical impulse-candle breakout EA for XAUUSD (GOLD). It waits for a strong M1 candle that comes with a jump in tick volume, and trades in that direction only when the higher-timeframe trend agrees. No grid, no martingale, no averaging. One position at a time, and every trade is opened with a stop loss and a take profit.
How it works
- Signal (closed M1 bar): candle range at least 0.2 x ATR(14), body at least 0.1 x ATR and at least 30% of the range, opposite wick at most 20% of the range.
- Tick volume: at least 1.2 x the 20-bar average and still accelerating (3-bar average at least 1.05 x the 20-bar average). Climax bars above 3.0 x are skipped.
- Trend filter: M30 EMA70 — buy only when price is at least 10 USD above it, sell only when at least 14 USD below it.
- H4 ADX between 15 and 50 (skips dead and overheated markets).
- Spread filter and a 2-bar cooldown after each entry.
Exits
- Stop loss: M1 ATR x 1.0, kept between 30 and 60 USD of gold price.
- Take profit: 2.0R for buys, 1.25R for sells.
- SL / TP are re-anchored to the actual fill price.
- Optional break-even, trailing stop and Friday close (off by default).
Risk controls
- Fixed 0.01 lot by default (optional risk-% sizing, always capped by MaxLot).
- Daily loss limit and a losing-streak pause (stops for 24 hours after 2 losses in a row).
- Symbol-wide position cap, so it can run next to other EAs on the same symbol.
- Trade permission, margin and volume-limit checks before every order.
Backtest
- XAUUSD (XM GOLD#), 2020.01.01 - 2026.10.07, every tick based on real ticks, fixed 0.01 lot, USD account, default settings.
- 671 trades, profit factor 1.43, win rate 47.5%, net profit +4,643 USD from a 1,000 USD start.
- Every calendar year from 2020 to 2026 was profitable (profit factor 1.31 to 1.63).
- 2020-2023: profit factor 1.41. 2024-2026: profit factor 1.44.

Recommended use
- Symbol: XAUUSD / GOLD. Attach to any chart timeframe (signals are taken from M1 internally).
- Default lot: fixed 0.01.
- Low-spread account and a VPS are recommended.

- Dark on-chart panel with balance, today / week / month P/L, open position, next lot, spread, cooldown, daily limit, losing streak and the latest signal values. Scale 50-200% and a one-click open / close button (display only, trading continues).

Notes
- Symbol suffixes (XAUUSDm, GOLD# etc.) are fine. For gold, all "pips" inputs are in US dollars of gold price, whatever the broker's digits.
- FridayCloseHour uses your broker's server time.
- Use a different Magic number for each chart.
