AMD Sweep Reversal

AMD Sweep Reversal trades a well-known intraday pattern in gold: the "Power of 3" (Accumulation, Manipulation, Distribution) around the New York open.

How it works

1. Accumulation: the EA records the overnight range from 00:00 to 09:30 New York time.
2. Manipulation: it waits for price to sweep above the range high or below the range low during the first two hours of the New York session (the stop hunt).
3. Confirmation: after the sweep, price must close back inside the range and break the last swing (market structure shift). Only then is a trade opened.
4. Distribution: the take profit is the opposite side of the range, the stop loss sits just beyond the sweep extreme, and any open trade is closed before the end of the New York session.

Filters and risk control

- Sudden-move filter: no entry right after a news-type spike candle.
- Trend-aware sizing: smaller risk when trading against the daily trend (100-day average), normal risk with the trend.
- Setup-quality sizing: tight overnight range, shallow sweep and early signal.
- Loss-streak protection: risk is halved after 2 losses in a row until the next win.
- Drawdown throttle: risk is halved while equity is more than 5% below its peak.
- Daily loss limit: trading stops for the day when it is hit.
- Stop loss and take profit on every trade, one position at a time, maximum one trade per day.
- Minimum reward-to-risk filter.
- No grid, no martingale, no hedging, no averaging.

Broker time zone is handled automatically

All session times are calculated in New York time and converted to your broker's server clock, including US daylight saving changes. The EA works with GMT+2/+3 brokers and with GMT+0 brokers. It detects the offset automatically on a live chart, and a manual override is available.

Recommended

- Symbol: XAUUSD (gold). The logic runs on other symbols, but it was designed and tested on gold.
- Timeframe: any (the EA reads M1, M3, H1 and D1 data internally).
- Account: any type; low-spread accounts are preferred.
- Recommended minimum deposit on gold: 1000 USD (or a cent account). With smaller balances the broker minimum lot can mean a much higher risk per trade; the EA then uses the minimum lot only if that risk stays under the "min-lot max risk" setting (default 20%) and prints a warning.
- Default risk: 1% per trade, hard cap 2.5% per trade.
- Trade frequency: about 15-25 trades per year on gold. There can be weeks without a trade. This is by design.

Main inputs

- AMD model: NY AM (default), NY short or Custom session times.
- Broker server timezone: Auto, NY-aligned GMT+2/+3, or fixed GMT offset.
- Base risk per trade (%) and hard cap on risk per trade (%).
- Sudden-move filter, daily trend SMA, loss-streak settings.
- Daily loss stop (%), minimum reward:risk, maximum spread, magic number.
