QCL Market Structure Zones is a free market structure indicator for MetaTrader 4. It identifies confirmed swing points, creates volatility-adjusted supply and demand zones, and marks Break of Structure events directly on the price chart.
The indicator can also display Higher High, Lower High, Higher Low, and Lower Low labels together with an optional pivot-based ZigZag.
It is designed for visual market analysis and does not open, modify, or close trades.

Supply and Demand Zones
A supply zone is created when a swing high is confirmed. The swing high defines the upper boundary of the zone, while the lower boundary is calculated using ATR and the Box Width parameter.
A demand zone is created when a swing low is confirmed. The swing low defines the lower boundary, while the upper boundary is calculated using the same volatility-adjusted method.
ATR-based sizing allows the zones to adapt to changing market volatility.
Each active zone contains:
- Upper and lower boundaries
- A shaded price area
- A dotted midpoint
- Supply or Demand text
- A Point of Interest label
Before creating a new zone, the indicator checks existing zones of the same type. A new zone is not added when its midpoint is too close to an active zone. This reduces repeated and overlapping areas on the chart.
Break of Structure
A bullish Break of Structure is recorded when a completed candle closes at or above the upper boundary of an active supply zone.
A bearish Break of Structure is recorded when a completed candle closes at or below the lower boundary of an active demand zone.
After a confirmed break, the affected zone is deactivated and a BOS line is drawn between the original zone and the candle that confirmed the break.
Temporary intrabar movement beyond a zone does not confirm a Break of Structure. The required condition must be satisfied by a completed candle.
Structure Labels
The optional structure labels classify confirmed pivots as:
- HH: Higher High
- LH: Lower High
- HL: Higher Low
- LL: Lower Low
A confirmed swing high is compared with the previous swing high. A confirmed swing low is compared with the previous swing low.
The labels can be disabled when a cleaner chart is preferred.
Pivot Confirmation
The indicator uses a symmetrical confirmation window around each potential pivot.
For example, with Swing Length set to 10, a pivot requires ten completed bars on each side before it can be confirmed.
After confirmation, the pivot is displayed at the candle where the swing occurred. This creates an intentional confirmation delay and prevents unfinished swing points from being treated as confirmed market structure.
Input Parameters
Swing Length
Controls pivot sensitivity. Lower values identify more short-term swings. Higher values focus on broader market structure and require more confirmation time.
History Keep
Defines the maximum number of supply and demand zones retained for each side.
Box Width
Controls zone height relative to ATR.
ATR Period
Sets the period used for volatility-based zone sizing.
Extend Right
Defines how far active zones extend to the right of the current chart.
Maximum BOS
Limits the number of historical Break of Structure records retained.
Maximum Pivots
Limits the number of confirmed pivots retained by the indicator.
Show Labels
Enables or disables HH, LH, HL, and LL labels.
Show ZigZag
Enables or disables the pivot-to-pivot ZigZag.
Colors
Separate colors can be selected for supply zones, demand zones, text labels, and the ZigZag.
Suggested Use
Start by evaluating the sequence of confirmed swing points. Higher highs and higher lows generally indicate bullish structure, while lower highs and lower lows generally indicate bearish structure.
Next, identify the nearest active supply zone above price and the nearest active demand zone below price.
Observe how price reacts when approaching these areas. A rejection may indicate that the zone remains relevant. A completed close beyond the zone boundary can create a Break of Structure.
Zones and BOS events should be evaluated together with timeframe context, volatility, and risk management. They should not be treated as automatic entry signals.
