Intraday traders frequently encounter aggressive boundary traps: selling into a dip below key support only to watch the market surge higher, or buying into a spike above resistance right before price collapses back into the prior range. These price events often represent deliberate liquidity sweeps engineered to trigger stop-loss orders and trap breakout participants before genuine directional rotation begins.
TurtleSoup is built specifically to systematically capture these structural inflection points. The algorithm detects false breakouts and liquidity sweeps where price temporarily breaches a previous swing high or low, sweeps resting liquidity, and then closes back inside the defined structural boundary. By isolating these reclaim events, the indicator visually separates high-probability mean-reversion setups from low-conviction consolidation noise.
The framework operates during active market hours and high-volume sessions across liquid instruments and volatile markets, particularly on M15, H1, and H4 timeframes where swing pivots and sweep structures remain distinct.

- The signal confirms strictly upon the close of the setup bar, using the open of the subsequent bar as the execution reference.

- Price sweeps above a prior confirmed swing high, collecting buy-side liquidity.
- Price reclaims and closes back below that swing level on the same setup bar, confirming a false breakout.
- A dominant bearish expansion candle confirms selling momentum and structural absorption.
- The signal confirms strictly upon the close of the setup bar, using the open of the subsequent bar as the execution reference.
Structural Stop Loss Placement:
- The indicator automatically projects a protective Stop Loss reference positioned outside the extreme wick of the sweep bar.
- A configurable volatility buffer provides additional distance beyond the sweep extreme to accommodate spread fluctuations and short-term market noise.
