Overview
GoldEdge MACD H1 is a rules-based Expert Advisor built for XAUUSD. Its logic was developed and tested using historical price data.
The Expert Advisor is designed around a trend-following approach: a trade is only opened when momentum shifts in the same direction as the broader underlying trend, rather than on a single crossover.
Entry logic
GoldEdge MACD H1 does not open a trade on every bar. Before a position is opened, the Expert Advisor checks that the broader trend direction and a momentum shift agree with each other.
A position is opened only when these conditions occur at the same time, in the same direction. Because this Expert Advisor works on the H1 timeframe, setups form less frequently than on lower timeframes, and trades are generally held longer with wider targets. Depending on market conditions, some weeks produce several setups and others produce none. This is part of how the entry logic is designed.
Trade management
How each trade is managed after entry:
The Stop Loss is set based on recent market volatility rather than a fixed distance.
Depending on the settings chosen, position size is either calculated from a risk percentage and the distance to the Stop Loss for that trade, or set as a fixed lot size.
Each signal is split into three separate targets, so parts of the position can close at different levels instead of all at once.
After the first target is reached, the Stop Loss on the remaining positions is moved to the entry price.
If the terminal disconnects or restarts, GoldEdge MACD H1 reloads its saved state and checks what happened while it was offline.
The Expert Advisor does not use grid or martingale techniques, and does not use unlimited recovery cycles. Each position is sized and managed independently from entry to exit.

How it works
Attach GoldEdge MACD H1 to an XAUUSD chart and set the desired risk percentage or fixed lot size.
The Expert Advisor monitors the market and checks its entry conditions on each new H1 bar.
When the conditions are met, GoldEdge MACD H1 calculates the position size and opens a position split across three targets.
Each position is managed automatically, including the Stop Loss adjustment after the first target.
