Index Trend Monitor is a MetaTrader 5 indicator designed to measure directional strength on index CFD symbols and other active markets.
The indicator combines EMA trend structure, ATR-normalized movement, impulse and persistence logic to generate a clean trend strength score. Positive values are shown as bullish strength, negative values as bearish strength, and a hidden regime buffer can be used by Expert Advisors or custom tools.
It is especially useful for index CFD symbols such as US100, NAS100, NDX100 or similar Nasdaq 100 / US Tech 100 instruments, depending on the symbol names used by each broker. The indicator does not depend on a fixed symbol name, so it can be attached to any chart where the user wants to analyze directional strength.
Main features:
- Trend strength line from -100 to +100.
- Bullish and bearish histogram visualization.
- EMA, ATR, impulse and persistence-based scoring.
- Optional reference timeframe.
- Closed-bar calculation option.
- Configurable maximum bars to calculate.
- Clean visual levels for strong/neutral/weak zones.
- Data Window buffers for integration with Expert Advisors.
- Hidden Regime Code buffer: 1 bullish, -1 bearish, 0 neutral.
- No DLLs, no WebRequest calls and no external dependencies.
Buffers:
- Trend Score: main directional strength value.
- Bull Strength: positive histogram values.
- Bear Strength: negative histogram values.
- Regime Code: 1 for bullish regime, -1 for bearish regime, 0 for neutral regime.
How to use:
- Attach the indicator to an index CFD chart or any market you want to analyze.
- Keep the reference timeframe as current, or select a higher timeframe for broader context.
- Use the histogram color and trend score to evaluate bullish or bearish directional pressure.
- Use the Regime Code buffer if you want to read the indicator from an Expert Advisor.
Important note:
Index symbols may have different names depending on the broker, such as US100, NAS100, NDX100 or other variations. The indicator is not locked to one symbol name.
This indicator is an analysis tool. It does not open trades, does not provide guaranteed signals and does not predict future price movement.
