1. Core Mechanics TOMGOODCAR RECOVERY operates on a combined strategy of Grid, Hedging, and Controlled Martingale, focusing strictly on Drawdown Management.
-
When the market moves against an open trade, the EA places recovery orders at specified distances (Grid Step).
-
It uses a Lot Multiplier to shift the Average Entry Price closer to the current market price.
-
Once the price pulls back and the total profit reaches the target (Basket TP), all trades are automatically closed to reduce risk and clear the exposure.
2. Key Parameters
-
Initial Lot: The starting trade size.
-
Grid Step (Points): The distance between recovery orders. Wider steps increase safety.
-
Lot Multiplier: The Martingale factor used to recover from drawdowns faster.
-
Maximum Lot Size: A strict safety measure to prevent excessive margin utilization.
-
Basket Target Profit: The combined profit target in currency, designed for quick exits.
3. Advanced Protection
-
Break Even System: Automatically moves the Stop Loss to the entry price once a trade reaches a safe profit level.
-
Super Recycle (Drawdown Reduction): Uses the profit from winning trades to offset and close heavy losing trades, freeing up margin while maintaining the Min Clean Profit.
4. System Requirements & Recommendations
-
Account Type: Requires HEDGING accounts (Netting is not supported).
-
Optimization: The EA comes with conservative default settings. It is highly recommended to test the EA on a Demo account to find the optimal Grid Step and TP for your specific broker and trading instrument (e.g., XAUUSD vs EURUSD).
5. External Order Management (Rescue System) A unique feature allowing the EA to manage pre-existing positions.
-
Manual Trades (Magic 0): The EA can take over manually opened trades and bring them into its mathematical recovery grid.
-
Other EA Trades: By setting a Target Magic Number, the EA can rescue stuck trades opened by third-party robots.
-
Dashboard Status: The on-chart UI will clearly display "RESCUING" when it takes control of external orders.
⚠️ Risk Warning & Disclaimer
-
Always Test First: It is highly recommended to run comprehensive Backtests or forward-test the EA on a Demo account before going live. This is crucial to find the optimal Grid Step, Multiplier, and Basket TP that best suit your specific account balance and risk tolerance.
-
Instrument Volatility: Different trading instruments behave differently. High-volatility assets like Gold (XAUUSD) require wider Grid Steps compared to standard currency pairs. Please optimize the settings accordingly.
-
Inherent Risks: Trading with Grid and Martingale strategies carries substantial risk, especially during extreme market conditions. Past performance and Backtest results do not guarantee future returns.
-
Protect Your Capital: Always utilize the Maximum Lot Size parameter to strictly limit your exposure and prevent the system from exhausting your account margin.
⏱️ Recommended Timeframe This EA is compatible with all timeframes. However, the 1-Minute (M1) timeframe is highly recommended for optimal performance and faster grid execution.
