BOSS Channel finder

BOSS Channel finder helps you see the current trend and where it may change.

What it does: The indicator draws two lines on your chart: one along recent swing highs and one along recent swing lows. Together they form a channel that shows the current trend. This is fully configurable, and applies to each chart period.

When price breaks above the top line or below the bottom line, the indicator marks these events with arrows. You can adjust how many bars must stay beyond the line before a break is confirmed.

Volume overlay: The indicator also marks candles with unusually high volume using circles above the candle. Green circles appear on bullish candles and red circles on bearish ones. This can help you spot where interest in the market is increasing.

Built-in controls:
  • Refresh – Recalculates the channel from the latest price data
  • Settings  Opens a panel to adjust parameters
  • Back / Fwd – Shifts the channel lines forward or backward in time
Customisation You can adjust how the channel is built, how structure breaks are confirmed, and how the volume overlay behaves.

Settings are stored per symbol and timeframe so each chart keeps its own configuration.

What the settings do:

  • Swing bars – Number of bars on each side used to define swing highs and lows. Higher values give smoother swings; lower values react faster to price changes.
  • Swing lookback – How far back the indicator searches for swings. Lets you focus on recent structure or include older swings.
  • BOS confirm bars  Number of bars that must stay beyond the line before a break is confirmed. Reduces false signals from brief wicks.
  • BOS use close – Use candle closes (vs wicks) to confirm breaks. Helps filter out noise and focus on confirmed moves.
  • Line width – Thickness of the channel lines for visibility on different chart styles.
  • Line tolerance (pips) – How much the line may pass through a bar and still be valid. Helps keep the channel usable when price briefly crosses.
  • Top / bottom line color – Colors for resistance and support lines so they’re easy to distinguish.
Volume Overlay
  • Show vol circles – Turn the high-volume markers on or off.
  • Vol mult  Volume threshold (e.g. 1.7 = 1.7× average). Lower values show more circles; higher values only the strongest volume spikes.
  • Vol avg period – Number of bars used for the volume average. Shorter periods react faster; longer periods give a steadier baseline.
  • Buy / sell circle color – Colors for bullish and bearish high-volume candles.
