Ultra Momentum is a professional momentum indicator engineered to detect the market’s true speed and directional dominance. It combines the classic Momentum calculation with an adaptive multi-period structure and high-quality algorithmic smoothing to deliver a noise-resistant, market-contextual view of momentum.

• an initial period,

• and a total number of period variations ( StepsTotal ).

This multi-scale approach evaluates momentum stability across several time horizons, significantly reducing false signals by verifying whether momentum is consistent across scales.

2️⃣ Directional Comparison — Buyers vs. Sellers

For each bar, the indicator:

• smooths each Momentum series,

• compares them pairwise,

• and counts how many periods show bullish acceleration versus bearish acceleration.

Outputs:

• UpScore → measured bullish pressure

• DownScore → measured bearish pressure

This transforms opinion-based signals into a statistical “vote” of market participants — a robust measure of directional conviction.

3️⃣ Advanced Smoothing (Noise Rejection)

UpScore and DownScore are then smoothed using configurable, professional smoothing algorithms (JJMA, JurX, T3, AMA, VIDYA, etc.). Smoothing parameters are tunable to match trading styles (scalp, intraday, swing).

Outcome: fluid indicator curves, reduced noise, and clearer detection of momentum transitions.
