Gold Supply Demand Rider is an Expert Advisor for gold (XAUUSD) that trades supply and demand zones in the direction of the trend. It waits for price to return to a fresh zone and for a closed candle to reject that zone before it enters.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Trend filter
The trend is read from the close price versus a Simple Moving Average on a higher timeframe. The EA buys only above a rising SMA and sells only below a falling SMA. When the two disagree, no new trade is opened.
2. Zone engine
Zones are built on the analysis timeframe with five methods: Swing High/Low, Drop-Base-Rally / Rally-Base-Drop, Order Block, Fair Value Gap and Breakout (role reversal). Every method can be switched on or off. Zone sizes are scaled by the ATR of the analysis timeframe.
A zone is removed once a candle closes through it. Zones that were touched too many times are dropped, overlapping zones are merged, and only the zones nearest to price are kept.
3. Entry
A trade is opened when the last closed candle touches a valid zone and rejects it (a bullish close at demand, a bearish close at supply). An anti-chase filter skips the trade if price has already moved too far away from the zone.
4. Exit
Stop loss and take profit can be fixed in points or scaled by the Daily ATR. A single open position is protected by Break Even, Trailing Stop and optional Partial Close. These are set as a percentage of the distance to take profit, so they adapt to any TP setting.
5. Optional averaging
Averaging is optional and can be switched off. When it is on, all positions on one side share one basket stop loss that is fixed at the first entry and never moves. Level spacing is fitted automatically inside that stop. Once averaging starts, the whole side is closed together at a basket profit target that scales with the total lot.
RISK CONTROLS
- Lot size from the initial balance (no compounding), fixed lot, or ATR-based sizing
- Floating cut loss (% of balance), with an optional wait for candle close and a hard cap that closes immediately
- Averaging is paused during price spikes, while a cut loss is pending, and between levels (cooldown)
- Maximum total lot, minimum margin level and maximum basket floating loss
- Spread limit in points or as % of Daily ATR
- News filter based on the MT5 Economic Calendar (live trading only)
- Daily profit target and daily loss limit
- Equity target: closes all positions and stops new entries until it is reset (dashboard button, daily or weekly)
- On-chart dashboard with floating P/L, lot, spread, trend, averaging level and equity target status
RECOMMENDATIONS
- Symbol: XAUUSD (any broker suffix). The EA can be attached to any chart timeframe; the analysis timeframe is set in the inputs.
- Account: hedging account is recommended.
- Start on a demo account first and keep risk small.
- In the Strategy Tester use "Every tick based on real ticks" and a deposit in account currency (not "profit in pips").
- The news filter does not work in the Strategy Tester because the MT5 Economic Calendar is not available there.
DEFAULT SETTINGS
The default inputs use the M1 analysis timeframe, a trend filter on M5 (SMA 200), take profit at 1.5 x Daily ATR, Break Even and Trailing Stop, and averaging limited to 3 levels. Every parameter can be changed in the Inputs tab and has a short English description.
RISK WARNING
Trading gold with leverage involves a high level of risk and may not be suitable for all investors.
