Kernvio PropFirm Gold is a trend-following breakout EA for XAUUSD H1, built for prop-firm evaluations. It trades one position at a time, uses ATR-based stops and a bar-based trailing stop, and enforces daily and total drawdown guards with a safety buffer. No grid, no martingale, no hedging.
What it does
- H4 trend filter, H1 breakout entry, one position at a time
- Stop loss 1.5 ATR, no fixed take profit, trailing stop 3.5 ATR on bar close
- Risk per trade in percent of the starting balance, adaptive: the closer the account gets to the total-loss limit, the smaller the position
- Daily-loss guard (stops the day at 3.5 % by default, limit 5 %) and total-loss guard (7 %, limit 10 %), both checked on every tick and timer
- Budget check before every entry: the trade is skipped if the remaining daily budget cannot cover the planned loss plus a slippage buffer
- Max 2 entries and 2 losing trades per day, entries only 08:00-20:00 server time
- State survives restarts: starting balance, day reference, locks and trading days are stored
- Dashboard on the chart: daily loss, total loss, progress to target, trading days, open position
Backtest, real ticks, 10 000 USD, spread about 20 points (see screenshots)
- 2020-01 to 2025-06: 541 trades, profit factor 1.42, max equity drawdown 15.5 % at 0.5 % fixed risk
- 2025-07 to 2026-08 (out of sample, never optimised): 112 trades, profit factor 1.74, +35 %
- Win rate is low (27-29 %); profits come from a few large trend trades. Losing streaks of 10-20 trades happen and are part of the design.
What it is not
This is not a fast-pass tool. With the default 0.75 % adaptive risk the simulated evaluation (10 % then 5 %) takes about six months on average and never hit a loss limit in testing. Higher risk settings are faster and can fail. Past results do not guarantee future results.
Settings
- Phase (1 or 2), starting balance (0 = balance at first start)
- Daily-loss limit and guard, total-loss limit and guard, stop after target
- Risk per trade, adaptive risk on/off, max spread, max lots, max trades and losses per day
- Friday close (off by default), magic number, slippage, dashboard and chart styling on/off
Strategy parameters are fixed inside the EA.
Recommended
XAUUSD, H1 chart, gold spread up to 50 points, hedging or netting account, VPS recommended. Tested on FTMO-style rules (5 % daily, 10 % total).
