Gold H4 Swing Expert
Gold H4 Swing Expert is an automated swing trading system developed primarily for Gold (XAUUSD) on the H4 timeframe.
The Expert Advisor is designed to identify established market trends, wait for a potential pullback, and enter only after additional price and momentum confirmation.
Unlike short-term scalping systems, Gold H4 Swing Expert focuses on higher-timeframe market movements and generally seeks fewer, more selective trading opportunities.
STRATEGY LOGIC
The strategy combines four main elements:
- EMA trend detection
- EMA pullback analysis
- RSI momentum confirmation
- ATR-based volatility management
The EA evaluates completed H4 candles before making trading decisions.
TREND DETECTION
The EA uses two Exponential Moving Averages to determine the broader market direction.
Default settings:
Fast EMA: 50
Slow EMA: 200
For a bullish market condition:
- Fast EMA must be above Slow EMA.
- Price must be above the Slow EMA.
For a bearish market condition:
- Fast EMA must be below Slow EMA.
- Price must be below the Slow EMA.
PULLBACK LOGIC
Instead of entering immediately after detecting a trend, the EA waits for price to return toward the Fast EMA.
Default Pullback Lookback: 5 candles
The system analyzes recent candles for interaction with the Fast EMA area.
An ATR-based tolerance is used around the EMA to account for normal Gold volatility.
Default Pullback Tolerance: 0.35 ATR
BUY LOGIC
A potential BUY position requires:
- Bullish EMA trend structure.
- A recent pullback toward the Fast EMA.
- The completed confirmation candle closes above the Fast EMA.
- The confirmation candle is bullish.
- Price shows renewed upward movement.
- RSI is within the configured BUY confirmation range.
- All risk and trading protection conditions allow a new position.
Default BUY RSI Range:
50 to 68
SELL LOGIC
A potential SELL position requires:
- Bearish EMA trend structure.
- A recent pullback toward the Fast EMA.
- The completed confirmation candle closes below the Fast EMA.
- The confirmation candle is bearish.
- Price shows renewed downward movement.
- RSI is within the configured SELL confirmation range.
- All risk and trading protection conditions allow a new position.
Default SELL RSI Range:
32 to 50
ATR STOP LOSS
Stop Loss is dynamically calculated using Average True Range (ATR).
Default settings:
ATR Period: 14
ATR Stop Multiplier: 2.20
This allows the Stop Loss distance to adapt to changing market volatility instead of relying on a fixed number of points.
TAKE PROFIT
Take Profit is calculated according to the configured Risk/Reward Ratio.
Default Risk/Reward Ratio: 2.50
With the default configuration, the initial Take Profit distance is approximately 2.5 times the initial Stop Loss distance.
RISK MANAGEMENT
The EA includes automatic percentage-based position sizing.
Default Risk Per Trade: 0.50%
Position size is calculated according to account equity and the distance between the entry price and Stop Loss.
Users can also disable automatic risk calculation and select a fixed lot size.
Additional risk controls include:
- Maximum lot protection
- Spread protection
- Margin availability check
- Broker Stop Level protection
- Broker Freeze Level protection
- Maximum trades per day
- Cooldown between entries
- Daily realized loss protection
- Single EA position control
DAILY TRADING PROTECTION
Default Maximum Trades Per Day: 1
Default Cooldown: 12 hours
Default Maximum Daily Loss: 3%
If the configured daily realized loss limit is reached, the EA will stop opening new positions for the remainder of the broker trading day.
TRADING SESSION FILTER
An optional broker/server-time trading session filter is included.
The filter is disabled by default because the strategy operates on the H4 timeframe.
Users can enable it and configure the preferred trading hours if required.
