RangeBreakoutRT is a fully automated breakout system built around live, intrabar range detection rather than static daily levels. Instead of waiting for a new day to define a range, the EA continuously scans price structure and locks onto the nearest valid consolidation range to current price, then trades the breakout of that range with strict, rules-based confirmation logic — no discretionary or random entries.

This EA is optimized for gold (XAUUSD).

How it trades

• Real-time range detection — identifies the nearest qualifying swing-high/swing-low range to current price (distance and consolidation tightness fully adjustable), continuously updated as the market moves.
• Two-tier breakout confirmation:
  • A candle that closes decisively beyond the range with a strong, solid-bodied close in the breakout direction triggers an immediate entry.
  • A weaker breakout (closing only partway through its body beyond the range) arms a wait-for-retest entry instead of chasing the move.
  • A candle that wicks through the range but closes back inside it is ignored entirely — no trade.
• Single-entry discipline. This EA is absolutely a single entry EA — only one position is ever open at a time, and no new signal is evaluated until the current trade has closed. Every trade fires strictly on the defined signal logic, with no random or supplementary entries.
• Structure-based stop loss placed on the opposite side of the detected range (with an adjustable buffer), plus a fixed take-profit target.
• Adjustable staged trailing stop (on/off) that locks in profit progressively as a trade runs, with fully configurable activation, step, and cap distances.
• Daily profit target with automatic resume the next trading day at a configurable time — the EA stands down for the rest of the day once the target is hit.
• High-impact news filter that pauses new entries around major USD news releases.
• Built-in info panel for at-a-glance monitoring of range state, pending setups, trade status, and daily performance — designed to stay out of the way during backtesting so it doesn't slow down optimization runs.

Money management

A base lot size is used by default. Martingale option added for those who have extreme risk appetite or have a huge capital to explore high-risk, high-reward setups — when enabled, position size increases by an adjustable multiplier after a loss and resets after a profitable close. This feature is entirely optional; it materially increases drawdown risk and is not recommended for small accounts.

Recommended use

Test thoroughly on a demo account across your intended symbols and timeframes before going live. All range, entry, stop, trailing, martingale, and filter parameters are exposed as inputs so the strategy can be tuned to different instruments and risk profiles.
