Crypto Portfolio Trend is a fully automated trend-following system for BTCUSD and ETHUSD. Instead of trading each coin in isolation, it manages them as one portfolio that shares the same account equity, so the de-correlation between Bitcoin and Ethereum improves return at equal portfolio drawdown. You attach it to a single chart; the EA handles both symbols internally.
How it works
- Regime filter: EMA 50/200 trend + ADX(27) to trade only strong, clean trends and skip choppy ranges; an optional higher-timeframe (H4) trend gate; an ATR volatility band.
- Entry: Donchian channel breakout in the trend direction, on closed bars only (no repainting, no look-ahead).
- Trade management: partial take-profit at 2R, automatic break-even, and a wide ATR trailing runner to ride extended moves.
- Pyramiding: scales into confirmed winners with reduced add-on risk.
- Risk control: every entry risks a fixed % of shared equity; hard caps on total portfolio risk and per-symbol risk; a daily-loss stop; and a native USD economic-calendar news filter (live trading).
Backtest (1-minute OHLC model, real broker data, 2024.06.19 to 2026.06.19, BTCUSD+ETHUSD, 5,000 USD start):
+148.8% net, Profit Factor 1.47, max drawdown 22.9%, 753 trades, 58.6% winners, Sharpe 1.74. The default inputs reproduce this test.

► INSTALLATION
- Buy/Rent the product, then in MT5 sign in to your MQL5 account (Tools > Options > Community).
- Navigator (Ctrl+N) > Expert Advisors > Market: the EA appears after purchase.
- Market Watch (Ctrl+M): make sure BTCUSD and ETHUSD are both visible.
- Open ONE single chart: BTCUSD, timeframe H1.
- Drag the EA onto that chart. In the Common tab, tick "Allow Algo Trading".
- Set the inputs (see below), click OK.
- Turn on the "Algo Trading" toolbar button (must be GREEN). A smiley face appears on the chart.
Important: do NOT open two charts — the EA trades BTC + ETH from this single BTCUSD H1 chart.

► FAQ / TROUBLESHOOTING
- "Symbol unavailable: ETHUSD" -> set InpSymbols to your broker's exact symbol names.
- No trades for hours/days -> normal, this is a selective breakout strategy (~190 signals/year). Just confirm Algo Trading is green.
- Odd pyramiding -> your account is in netting mode; switch to hedging.
- Sad smiley / no trading -> the Algo Trading button is off, or "Allow Algo Trading" is unchecked.
