Mattrix Risk Meter
A risk sentiment indicator that visualizes the Risk-On / Risk-Off
sentiment in the Forex market by comparing two synthetic currency
baskets. Designed for traders who want to understand the broader
market mood beyond individual pair movements.
WHAT IT SHOWS:
The indicator plots two normalized lines in a separate window:
RON (white line) — Risk-On basket of 8 high-beta currency pairs
ROFF (red line) — Risk-Off basket of 8 safe-haven pairs (inverted)
When the lines move together, the market is consistent.
When they diverge, a regime shift may be developing.
RON basket pairs:
EURCAD, EURJPY, GBPUSD, GBPCHF, AUDCAD, AUDCHF, NZDUSD, NZDJPY
ROFF basket pairs:
EURUSD, EURCHF, GBPCAD, GBPJPY, AUDUSD, AUDJPY, NZDCAD, NZDCHF
SIGNAL LOGIC:
A divergence histogram (gray/red/green/gold colors) shows the gap
between RON and ROFF in pips. When the divergence exceeds a configurable
threshold, gold diamond arrows mark potential reversal candidates.
The indicator supports three threshold modes:
AUTO — adapts threshold to chart timeframe
MANUAL — fixed values for full control
ATR — dynamic threshold based on RON volatility
USAGE:
1. Attach to any chart (works standalone on any broker with the 28 Forex majors)
2. For best visual alignment, attach to a synthetic #RON or #ROFF chart
(these can be created with the free Mattrix Synthetic Chart EA)
3. Configure threshold mode based on your timeframe and trading style
4. Watch for divergence histogram color changes and gold reversal arrows
INPUT PARAMETERS:
- Normalization period (default 100 bars)
- Threshold mode (AUTO / MANUAL / ATR)
- ATR period and multipliers (for ATR mode)
- Manual threshold values (for MANUAL mode)
- Broker suffix (auto-detected, can be overridden)
- Reversal arrow display
VISUAL DESIGN:
- White RON line, red ROFF line (inverted for direct comparison)
- 4-color divergence histogram (neutral / risk-off / risk-on / extreme)
- Gold diamond reversal arrows on signal candles
- Level lines at threshold and exhaustion zones
- Compatible with both dark and light chart themes
About Free Demo: Due to MetaTrader 5 platform restrictions, the demo version runs only in the Strategy Tester, which cannot meaningfully display this on-chart indicator. For a real-world impression, please refer to the screenshots above or ask any question in the Comments section.
REQUIREMENTS:
- MetaTrader 5 build 3000+
- 16 Forex pairs available on broker (the 8 RON + 8 ROFF pairs)
- Automatic broker suffix detection (handles m, .raw, .ecn, etc.)
