VWAP Historical Levels

VWAP Historical Levels is a practical VWAP indicator for MetaTrader 5 that combines the current VWAP structure with important levels calculated from completed sessions or anchor periods.

Its main advantage is the ability to preserve the previous period’s VWAP, Upper Band 1 and Lower Band 1 as horizontal historical levels. This makes it easier to see where price was previously considered balanced and how the current market reacts to those levels.

HOW HISTORICAL LEVELS CAN BE USED

At the end of each selected anchor period, the indicator stores:

• Historical VWAP
• Historical Upper Band 1
• Historical Lower Band 1

The area between the previous period’s Lower Band 1 and Upper Band 1 can be used as a practical previous-period value area. It provides a statistical reference for evaluating whether the current price is trading inside, above or below the previous session’s main VWAP deviation area.

This zone is based on VWAP and its first deviation band. It is not a Volume Profile Value Area calculated from traded volume at price.

Historical levels can help identify:

• Previous areas of market balance
• Potential support and resistance
• Reactions to the previous session’s VWAP
• Returns into the previous value zone
• Acceptance above or below the previous session’s range
• Mean-reversion and continuation areas

HISTORICAL LEVEL DISPLAY MODES

Historical levels can be displayed in two ways:

• Until first touch – each level remains visible until price touches it for the first time
• Entire next anchor period – levels remain visible throughout the complete following period, even after being touched

The default mode is Until first touch. Historical alerts remain one-time alerts for each individual level.

CURRENT VWAP AND BANDS

The indicator displays the active VWAP together with up to three configurable upper and lower bands.

Available band calculation methods include:

• Standard deviation
• Percentage distance from VWAP

Each band can be enabled, disabled and visually customized independently.

ANCHOR PERIODS

The VWAP calculation can be anchored to different market periods, including:

• Daily / Session
• Weekly
• Monthly
• Quarterly
• Yearly
• Longer-term periods

This allows the indicator to be used for both intraday session analysis and higher-timeframe market context.

ALERTS

Optional alerts are available for touches or crossings of:

• Current VWAP
• Current Band 1
• Current Band 2
• Current Band 3
• Historical VWAP
• Historical Upper Band 1
• Historical Lower Band 1

Notification options include:

• MetaTrader 5 popup alerts
• Push notifications to the MetaTrader mobile application

Alerts are disabled by default and include protection against repeated notifications.
