ATOM Choppiness Zone is an advanced volatility filter designed to eliminate market noise and instantly reveal whether the market is ranging or trending. The Mathematics & Formula

The indicator measures market efficiency using fractal dimension logic. It calculates the ratio between the total True Range over $N$ periods and the high-low range of the same period:

Where:

$\text{TR}_i$: True Range for period $i$
$\text{MaxHigh}$ & $\text{MinLow}$: Extreme price points over the $N$ lookback period
$N$: Period setting (Default = 14)

How to Trade with Color Zones

Instead of watching a single line cross numerical levels, ATOM Choppiness Zone instantly categorizes market states into three actionable color zones:

Red Zone ($\ge 61.8$) — Choppy / Consolidation
- Market State: High chaos, sideways movement, low directional efficiency.
- Action: Avoid Trend Following. Do not trade breakout signals as false breakouts are frequent. Stay neutral or run mean-reversion strategies.
