Multi-Timeframe Consensus & Moving Average Indicator for MetaTrader 4 & 5
OverviewMaestro Shi is a multi-timeframe technical indicator for MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 that brings several timeframe perspectives onto a single chart.
The indicator can display smoothed moving-average lines from up to four independent timeframes, allowing traders to compare directional conditions across different market horizons without switching between charts.
Each timeframe slot can be configured independently, including its timeframe, shift, and optional directional inversion.
The indicator also provides an optional Group A / Group B Cross-Signal module, which compares two independently configured smoothed moving averages and marks their crossover points.
Multi-Timeframe AnalysisMaestro Shi allows up to four independent timeframe slots:
-
TF1
-
TF2
-
TF3
-
TF4
Each slot can be assigned a standard timeframe or switched OFF.
This makes it possible to build a customized multi-timeframe view, for example:
Lower timeframe → Intermediate timeframe → Higher timeframe → Long-term timeframe
The selected timeframe conditions are displayed directly on the current chart, providing a visual overview without requiring multiple chart windows.
Smoothed Moving Average EngineThe indicator uses SMMA (Smoothed Moving Average) calculations based on Open and Median prices.
The common base period is controlled by:
Period_
When a selected timeframe differs from the current chart timeframe, the indicator automatically adjusts the effective MA period so that the displayed line approximates the behavior of the selected timeframe on the active chart.
This allows higher- and lower-timeframe calculations to be represented within a single chart environment.
Individual Timeframe ControlsEvery timeframe slot has its own configuration.
Timeframe
TF1 / TF2 / TF3 / TF4
Select the timeframe used by each slot or disable the slot when it is not required.
Shift
Shift1 / Shift2 / Shift3 / Shift4
Applies a bar shift to the corresponding timeframe calculation.
Inversion
Inversion1 / Inversion2 / Inversion3 / Inversion4
Reverses the directional interpretation of the selected timeframe slot.
This provides additional flexibility when building custom directional models.
Consensus SignalsThe main signal module is based on strict directional consensus.
A Buy or Sell arrow is generated only when all currently enabled timeframe slots agree on the same direction.
Buy Consensus
A blue arrow indicates that all active timeframe slots produce a Buy-side directional vote.
Sell Consensus
A red arrow indicates that all active timeframe slots produce a Sell-side directional vote.
Partial Agreement
If the active timeframes do not agree, no consensus arrow is generated.
This makes the arrows specifically represent full agreement, rather than a partial or weighted combination of timeframe conditions.
Visual Timeframe HierarchyThe indicator uses different line widths to create a visual hierarchy between timeframe calculations.
Higher-timeframe lines are displayed with greater thickness, making it easier to distinguish broader market conditions from lower-timeframe movements.
This allows several timeframe perspectives to remain readable on a single chart.
Optional Cross-Signal ModuleMaestro Shi includes an independent Group A / Group B Cross-Signal module.
When enabled, two separately configured SMMA lines are compared.
Group A
Configured through:
-
APeriod
-
ATF1
-
AShift1
Group B
Configured through:
-
BPeriod
-
BTF1
-
BShift1
A signal is generated when one group line crosses the other.
The Cross-Signal module can be used:
-
together with the multi-timeframe consensus;
-
independently from the consensus module;
-
as an additional confirmation layer.
An optional chart comment can display the current directional status of each active timeframe.
Controlled by:
OnComment
This provides a quick real-time overview of the current multi-timeframe configuration without requiring the trader to interpret every line individually.

Attach Maestro Shi to any supported symbol and timeframe and configure the timeframe slots according to the market perspective you want to monitor.
For a broad multi-timeframe view, use several different timeframes and allow the indicator to display their directional conditions simultaneously.
The consensus arrows can then be used to identify moments when all enabled timeframe perspectives point in the same direction.
If you prefer a simpler configuration, unused timeframe slots can be switched off.
The Cross-Signal module can be enabled when an additional moving-average crossover view is required.
Practical RecommendationsStart with the default settings and gradually experiment with different combinations of:
-
timeframes;
-
SMMA periods;
-
shifts;
-
inversion settings;
-
consensus configurations.
Higher timeframes can be useful for observing broader directional conditions, while lower timeframes provide a more responsive view of recent price behavior.
Remember that consensus does not mean certainty. A multi-timeframe agreement is a technical condition, not a prediction of future price movement.
Important NoticeMaestro Shi is a technical analysis and decision-support indicator. It is not an automated trading system and does not guarantee profitable results.
Signals should be evaluated together with your own market analysis, entry criteria, and risk-management rules.
