Prop Risk Desk is a chart panel for MetaTrader 5 that sizes your next trade from a chosen stop loss and risk percentage, then places the order only when you press PLACE ORDER. It does not open trades by itself in live trading.
It is built for traders who work with FTMO-style rules and want lot size, daily loss room, and maximum loss room on the same chart before they send an order.
What it does
You attach it to a chart, set BUY or SELL, choose the stop loss, and type the risk you want as a percent of current balance. The panel then shows:
- suggested lot size from the broker contract, tick value, volume step, and margin
- risk in money and as a percent
- reward in money and risk-to-reward if a take profit is set
- stop and target distance
- margin required
- risk already reserved by open positions
- daily loss used, daily room left, maximum loss used, and remaining room to the account limit
- profit target progress, trading days, and related FTMO-style metrics when they apply
Nothing is sent until you press PLACE ORDER. AutoTrading must be enabled for that button to work.
How to use it
- Attach the Expert Advisor to the chart you want to trade.
- Choose the FTMO-style profile that matches your account: 2-Step Challenge, 1-Step Challenge, 2-Step Verification, funded 2-Step, funded 1-Step, or Free Trial.
- Choose starting capital: Auto, 10K, 25K, 50K, 100K, 200K, or a custom size.
- Select BUY or SELL.
- Use CURRENT for a market order at Ask (buy) or Bid (sell), or SPECIFIED for a pending order at the price you set.
- Set the stop loss. A stop loss is required.
- Set a take profit if you want one. It is optional.
- Type the risk percent, or press SET and click the chart to pick prices and risk from the chart.
- Check the TRADE PREVIEW. If the setup is valid, PLACE ORDER becomes active.
- Open the ACCOUNT tab to review daily loss, maximum loss, high water, target progress, and trading days.
You can also drag the Entry, Stop Loss, and Take Profit lines on the chart. The panel updates as you move them. The panel can be dragged, and it keeps TRADE and ACCOUNT on separate tabs so PLACE ORDER stays on screen.
Trade preview
Before you send, the panel shows order type, lots, risk money, risk percent, reward, risk-to-reward, stop distance, target distance, reserved open risk, and margin. Risk and reward are shown on the same price basis, so a 1:1 setup shows matching risk and reward amounts.
If the setup is not allowed, the status line explains why. Typical blocks include missing stop loss, stop too close to the current price, spread too wide, not enough daily or maximum loss room, not enough margin, or an invalid volume.
Account dashboard
The ACCOUNT tab tracks FTMO-style limits against the detected or selected starting capital:
- daily loss limit and remaining daily room
- maximum loss limit, static or end-of-day trailing depending on the selected profile
- equity and balance profit or loss
- profit target remaining, when the selected profile has a target
- trading days counted so far
- a safety buffer so the next order does not use the last remaining slice of daily or maximum room
Daily reset follows Prague time by default. You can override that with a server hour if your broker clock is different.
Supported markets
The lot calculation uses the attached symbol specification, so it can work on forex, indices, metals, energies, agriculture, crypto, stock CFDs, and DXY, as long as the broker provides valid contract data. Commission can be included in the risk calculation, with separate fallbacks by asset class when live commission is not available.
Safety checks before sending
The program checks broker stop and freeze distances, volume min/max/step, symbol volume limit, free margin, filling mode, and optional spread limits. Market orders can be blocked if the spread is wider than your setting. Risk percent is capped, with a hard maximum of 10 percent of current balance.
Important
This is a manual risk calculator and order launcher, not an automated strategy. It does not search for entries and does not promise profit.
FTMO rules can change. Always confirm the current official rules for your account. This product is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or part of FTMO.
Calculated risk is an estimate. Slippage, spread widening, gaps, partial fills, and commission differences can make the real loss larger than the preview. Use it on a demo account first, keep AutoTrading enabled only when you intend to place an order, and keep a stop loss on every trade.
