SpikeRider trades XAUUSD around high-impact US news releases (NFP, CPI, Fed rate decisions), combining breakout, momentum, and mean-reversion entries depending on how price reacts to the data.
What is SpikeRider :
SpikeRider is a news-driven Expert Advisor for XAUUSD (Gold), built specifically around high-impact US economic releases: Nonfarm Payrolls, Core CPI m/m, and Fed Interest Rate Decisions.
Gold generally moves opposite the US dollar. A release that's positive for the dollar tends to push gold down, and vice versa. SpikeRider uses that relationship to decide how to react to a price spike after a release.
How it works
Just before a tracked announcement, SpikeRider places pending buy/sell stop orders on both sides of price, at a distance calibrated to recent volatility (ATR M1) — so it only reacts to a genuinely significant move, not normal market noise. The first order triggered becomes a trade; the other is cancelled. This is a Breakout entry.
Once the release is published, SpikeRider compares the size of the move to that same volatility measure. If the move is significant AND its direction matches what the data implied, it enters in the direction of the move, betting on continuation — a Momentum entry.
If the move is significant but NOT confirmed by the data, SpikeRider treats it as an overreaction. It waits for price to partially retrace before entering against the initial spike — a Fade entry.
Each trade is taken with a predefined stop-loss. The risk per position is determined as a percentage of the balance.
Up to two trades can result from a single news event (one Breakout, plus either one Momentum or one Fade). Each entry mode can be disabled independently.
Backtest results (2023.01 – 2026.08, XAUUSD, M1 data, MT5 Strategy Tester)

- Works on any chart timeframe — SpikeRider is driven by the economic calendar, not by candle close
Pricing — monthly rental only at launch
SpikeRider is currently sold as a monthly rental. The price increases in steps as the product gains activations. Each rental period is billed at the price in effect at the time of purchase or renewal — renting earlier means paying less for that period, but renewing later reflects the current price. A lifetime license will open once the rental price reaches $105.

Important
Stop-loss is part of the strategy, not a sign of malfunction. Judge performance over a full month of tracked news events, not a handful of trades. This product does not use grid or martingale.
