Server Clock and Daily Reset Hour

Server Clock and Daily Reset Hour is a small read-only chart panel that answers one question: what hour, in your broker's server time, does your trading day actually reset?
Prop firm and funded account rules are usually written in a time zone that is not yours and not your broker's. A rule that says the day resets at 5:00 pm New York has to be converted into broker server time before it is any use to you, and the answer changes twice a year when clocks shift. Getting it wrong means every daily loss figure you track is measured from the wrong starting point.
What the panel shows
- Broker server time, updated every second, with the server's offset from UTC detected automatically
- Current UTC time and your own computer's time, side by side, so the three clocks can be compared at a glance
- Your firm's reset rule as you entered it, and the time zone it is written in
- Whether that zone is currently on standard time or daylight saving time
- The reset hour converted into broker server time, including a marker when the conversion rolls into the next or previous day
- A live countdown to the next reset
- A warning when clocks are about to change, showing the date and what your server reset hour becomes afterwards
Time zones supported
New York, Chicago, London, Frankfurt, UTC, and a custom fixed offset for anything else. Daylight saving is calculated from the real switching rules: the United States changes on the second Sunday in March and the first Sunday in November, Europe on the last Sunday in March and the last Sunday in October. These fall on different dates, which is why a fixed offset is not enough.
Settings
- Reset Zone the time zone your firm's rule is written in
- Reset Hour and Reset Minute the reset time as your firm states it, in that zone
- Custom Zone Offset Minutes used only when Reset Zone is set to Custom
- Auto Detect Server Offset on by default, works out the server's UTC offset from the terminal
- Manual Server Offset Minutes used when auto detection is switched off
- Panel position, font size and colours
What it does not do
It sends no orders, modifies nothing, and reads no account balance or position data. It reads clocks and displays the result. Attach it to any chart on any timeframe.
If your computer's clock is inaccurate the panel will say so, because automatic offset detection compares the server clock against your machine's idea of UTC.
Setup
- Attach the panel to any chart
- Open the Inputs tab and set the Reset Zone, Reset Hour and Reset Minute to match your firm's rule
- Leave Auto Detect Server Offset on unless your broker requires a manual value
