HOW IT WORKS

A linear regression channel is fitted to price over a configurable lookback period. The EA tracks the channel's bandwidth against its own recent range to distinguish between a market that is compressing and one that is simply wide. A trade is considered only when volatility contracts and price subsequently closes outside the channel, identifying potential breakout opportunities rather than chasing random price movements.

STAGED TAKE-PROFITS

Every trade uses three configurable take-profit levels.

• TP1 moves the stop loss to breakeven
• TP2 moves the stop to the first target
• TP3 closes the remaining position

If the market reverses after partial progress, the trade is generally protected around breakeven or a small gain. When momentum continues, the EA allows the position to run toward the final target instead of closing at a single fixed exit.

OPTIONAL TREND CONFIRMATION

Three independent trend filters are available, each configurable on its own timeframe.

• Market Structure — detects a break of the latest confirmed swing high or low
• EMA — checks price position and optionally the EMA slope
• Supertrend — uses an ATR-trailed band to identify trend flips

Filters can be combined in two modes. All Must Agree requires every enabled filter to confirm before entry. Majority Mode requires only the majority to agree. Market Structure is enabled by default. The additional filters can be enabled and tested according to your preferred trading style.

SMART POSITION SIZING

Choose between fixed lot size or automatic risk-based sizing. The automatic mode calculates lot size based on a percentage of account balance, equity or free margin. The calculation uses the actual distance to the stop loss for each individual trade, keeping intended risk consistent even when stop distances vary.

RECOMMENDED USE

The EA is built and tested on XAUUSD using the M15 timeframe. The underlying strategy is symbol-agnostic and can be applied to other instruments, but performance and optimal settings may vary. Because the regression channel and contraction threshold are relative measures, settings optimised for one instrument may not work equally well on another. Always backtest and optimise the core parameters — channel length, channel deviation, contraction threshold and take-profit multipliers — using the specific symbol, broker, spread and trading conditions you intend to use before deploying on a live account.
