This indicator integrates Shannon entropy, Hurst exponent, momentum quality, and volatility regime detection into a unified confluence framework. It provides continuous assessment of gold market state to support trading decisions across all timeframes.

The indicator is designed for traders who analyze gold price behavior using information theory and fractal geometry. Each analytical component measures a distinct dimension of market dynamics, and the confluence scoring system aggregates these dimensions into actionable readings for XAU/USD and related gold instruments.

Analytical Components

  • Shannon Entropy - Measures the randomness distribution in gold price changes over a configurable lookback period. Low entropy values indicate directional behavior in XAU/USD, while high entropy values suggest ranging or unpredictable conditions.
  • Hurst Exponent - Evaluates persistence in gold price movement. Values above 0.5 indicate trending tendency, values below 0.5 suggest mean-reversion behavior, and values near 0.5 reflect random walk conditions.
  • Momentum Quality - Compares net price displacement against total path length over the momentum period. This ratio identifies efficient directional movement in gold markets versus choppy, inefficient price action.
  • Volatility Regime - Compares short-period average true range against a longer-period baseline for XAU/USD. This identifies volatility expansion and compression phases that often precede directional moves in gold.
  • Confluence Score - Aggregates agreement across all analytical dimensions and multiple timeframes into a single percentage value. Higher confluence readings indicate stronger alignment of conditions for gold trading analysis.

How the Indicator Works

The core regime value is calculated as a weighted combination of entropy, Hurst, and momentum signals. This value oscillates between -1 and +1, where positive readings suggest trending conditions and negative readings suggest ranging or mean-reverting conditions in gold price action.

The confluence system evaluates whether entropy levels, Hurst exponent readings, and momentum measurements agree across short, medium, and long analytical periods. When multiple dimensions align for XAU/USD, the confluence score increases, providing a quantitative measure of analytical agreement for gold market structure assessment.

Adaptive thresholds automatically adjust based on recent regime behavior. This allows the indicator to maintain sensitivity during quiet gold market phases while avoiding excessive signal generation during volatile XAU/USD periods.

Signal Types

The indicator identifies three categories of conditions on the gold price chart:

  1. Threshold Cross (Type A) - The regime value crosses above or below the adaptive threshold while confluence and momentum meet their respective minimum levels. These conditions appear as arrow signals on the XAU/USD price chart.
  2. Confluence Build (Type B) - Conditions strengthen progressively with high confluence scores without an immediate threshold cross. These signals identify developing gold market structure shifts before a full threshold event occurs.
  3. Zero-Line Cross (Type C) - The regime transitions from negative to positive territory or the reverse, indicating a shift in the fundamental market state for gold.

Dashboard Panel

A real-time dashboard panel displays all analytical readings for the current gold bar. The panel includes regime state with visual bar representation, entropy level with classification, Hurst exponent with persistence label, momentum quality rating, volatility regime status, confluence percentage, and recent signal count. The dashboard updates its numerical values on each XAU/USD tick and refreshes the full display on new bar formation.

Signal Mode Presets

  • Conservative - Requires stronger threshold values and higher confluence scores before conditions are flagged. Suitable for gold swing trading analysis on higher timeframes.
  • Balanced - Moderate threshold settings with balanced sensitivity. This is the default mode for general XAU/USD market structure analysis.
  • Aggressive - Lower thresholds for earlier detection of developing conditions. Provides more frequent readings for gold scalping and intraday analysis.

Usage Notes
