COASYN Directional Order Blocks is a MetaTrader 5 market-structure indicator that identifies directional supply and demand zones created around confirmed structure breaks with displacement.
The indicator is designed to help traders visualize potential areas of prior participation without turning those zones into automatic trade signals.
How blocks are created
A new order block requires:
1. A confirmed structure break
The indicator tracks swing highs and swing lows using the configurable Structure Swing Length.
2. Directional displacement
The break candle must meet both:
- a minimum ATR-relative range
- a minimum candle-body percentage
3. An opposing origin candle
After a valid break, the indicator searches backward for the opposing candle that preceded the move.
For demand, it searches for a bearish candle.
For supply, it searches for a bullish candle.
Order Block Zone
The displayed zone can be configured as:
Full Candle
Uses the full high-to-low range of the origin candle.
Body
Uses only the candle body.
Refined
Uses a directional refinement of the origin candle.
For demand, the refined zone runs from the candle low to the top of its body.
For supply, it runs from the bottom of the body to the candle high.
Block states
Each new block begins as a fresh zone.
The trader can decide when a block becomes considered touched:
First Contact
Price reaches the outer boundary.
50% Reached
Price reaches the midpoint of the zone.
Full Fill
Price travels through the entire block.
Touched blocks can either remain visible with a lighter appearance or be removed automatically.
Invalidation
Blocks can be invalidated using:
Close Beyond
A completed candle must close beyond the block boundary.
Wick Beyond
Any wick beyond the block boundary is sufficient.
Demand blocks invalidate below their lower boundary.
Supply blocks invalidate above their upper boundary.
Invalidated blocks can either be removed or retained in a neutral color for review.
50% Midline
Enable Show 50% Line to display the midpoint of each order block.
This provides a simple visual reference for traders who use partial mitigation or midpoint interaction in their process.
Structure Break Markers
Enable Show Structure Break Marker to display the location where the displacement-driven break created the block.
This is optional and can be disabled for a cleaner chart.
Block limits
Maximum Active Blocks per Direction controls how many demand and supply zones remain active at one time.
Older blocks are removed automatically when the configured limit is exceeded.
Forward Projection
Forward Projection controls how far active zones extend to the right of the chart.
As the chart advances, active blocks continue projecting forward until they are touched, invalidated, removed, or replaced by the active-block limit.
Alerts
Optional alerts can notify the trader when:
- a new Demand Order Block is created
- a new Supply Order Block is created
- price enters a Demand Order Block
- price enters a Supply Order Block
- a Demand Order Block is invalidated
- a Supply Order Block is invalidated
Alerts are informational only and do not place trades.

A displayed block is a reference zone, not a prediction that price must reverse or continue.
