SMC Gold Hunter EA is an automated Expert Advisor developed for the MetaTrader 5 platform. It is designed based on Smart Money Concepts (SMC) market structure logic, primarily optimized for XAUUSD (Gold). The EA does not employ grid trading, Martingale, counter‑trend averaging, or any loss‑accumulating strategies.

Core Strategy:

  • A dual‑timeframe structure analysis is used: the higher timeframe determines the overall market bias, while the lower timeframe (M5) identifies precise reversal entry points based on structural shifts.

  • The EA autonomously scans swing highs/lows, internal structure, and CHoCH (Change of Character) breakouts.

  • Only entries that align with the higher‑timeframe structure are considered. Counter‑trend signals are filtered out.

  • Oscillation and range‑bound conditions are detected via swing pivot length and internal structure parameters; during such periods, all entry signals are paused to avoid repeated stop‑loss hits.

  • When a new position is opened in one direction, any existing opposite‑direction positions are automatically closed, maintaining a single‑direction exposure.

  • A dynamic stop‑loss is calculated based on ATR volatility and anchored to recent structural swing levels. The system automatically adjusts the stop price to comply with each broker’s minimum stop distance (SYMBOL_TRADE_STOPS_LEVEL), preventing invalid stop errors in both backtesting and live trading.

Exit and Risk Management:

  • A three‑stage partial exit mechanism is applied:

    1. First partial closure at a predefined risk‑reward ratio to secure initial gains. After this, a breakeven trailing stop is activated for the remaining position.

    2. Second partial closure is triggered when internal structure bias flips or price breaches the trailing stop level, reducing exposure while retaining profit potential from the original trend.

    3. Full closure when the overall swing structure reverses completely, preventing deep retracements.

  • Users may enable or disable the trailing stop feature independently.

Risk Control Features:

  • Pre‑trade margin verification: before each order, the required margin is calculated; if free margin is insufficient, the entry is skipped.

  • Minimum margin level protection: new positions are blocked if the account margin level falls below a user‑defined threshold.

  • Adaptive slippage: the allowed slippage is calculated dynamically based on the current broker spread, adjusting during high‑volatility periods.

  • Single full‑lot position limit per direction: only one initial full lot is allowed per direction. After the first partial close, the entry slot is released to allow new structural opportunities in the same trend direction.

  • Automatic broker stop‑level compliance: the stop price is corrected to meet each broker’s minimum distance requirements, eliminating “Invalid stops” errors.

  • Market holiday compatibility: entry requests are skipped during weekends and public holidays to avoid failed orders.

  • FOK (Fill or Kill) execution mode is used for precise order filling during volatile Gold sessions.

Operation and Compatibility:

  • The EA runs on the M5 timeframe and is optimized for XAUUSD (compatible with any broker symbol for Gold, e.g., XAUUSDm, GOLD).

  • It supports three trading modes: both directions, long only, or short only.

  • Default parameters are pre‑configured for immediate use. Advanced users may adjust swing pivot length, ATR stop multiplier, risk‑reward ratio, risk thresholds, and entry mode toggles.

  • Structural signals are refreshed only on M5 bars, ensuring low CPU usage.
