Please note: In live trading, the drawdown may be significant. Be sure to use only money you can afford to lose, and avoid setting the LotFactor too high (recommended 0.1–0.2).
Gold Something is is a trading robot created by training past XAUUSD charts using LightGBM.
It uses RSI, Bollinger Bands, deviations from various moving averages, ATR, and other features as its primary inputs. It is also designed to place greater emphasis on more recent chart data during training. The model has been trained on approximately 15 years of historical gold data.
The trading logic utilizes the H1 (1-hour) timeframe as a reference to execute trend-following strategies, specifically targeting buy-on-dips and sell-on-rallies.
In terms of activity, the robot trades an average of 1 to 4 times per week, totaling approximately 130 to 200 trades per year.
It's also possible for two signals to hold positions simultaneously.
It executes trades identically regardless of which timeframe(chart period) it is applied to.
It performs day trading, with positions typically held for approximately 5 to 8 hours.
Since position closing is handled by the robot's internal logic, the Take Profit and Stop Loss parameters serve primarily as emergency safeguards for sudden market volatility rather than primary exit targets.
Because this strategy often targets buying on dips and selling on rallies within a medium-term trend, drawdowns may occur when the trend breaks down.
Version 2.0 employs a model with lower drawdowns in backtesting compared to version 1.0.
When market volatility is too high, I recommend reducing the lot size or stopping the EA.
■This EA is programmed to close a position if it is profitable 4 hours and 55 minutes after the order is placed.
If the profit/loss is still negative after 4 hours and 55 minutes, it will close the position the moment a profit equal to the parameter Lot size × MinProfit is reached.
For example, if the order is 0.01 lots and MinProfit is 100, the position will close with a profit of 100 yen if the account is a yen account, and 100 cents if it is a dollar account.
For Micro accounts, please adjust MinProfit as needed. The EA will also close the position if the profit/loss is negative after 8 hours from the order date.
Recommended: A GMT+2 broker like ICmarkets
Note: Backtesting results are not a guarantee of future profits. Please run the robot on a demo account for a period of time to monitor its performance before committing real capital.
