The TradeManagerEA is a specialized Expert Advisor designed to manage open trades across all symbols. It provides automatic breakeven rules, trailing stops, and additional settings optimized for Gold (XAU/GOLD). This tool requires minimal user intervention and can enhance the consistency of your trading approach.

Detailed Description

1. Core Features

  • Breakeven Management: Automatically moves Stop Loss to entry price plus a defined buffer after reaching the first Take Profit (TP1).

  • Trailing Stop: Gradually tightens the Stop Loss as the price moves in your favor, with customizable step and distance.

  • Gold-Specific Parameters: Special overrides for pips, trailing stops, and breakeven when trading XAU or GOLD.

  • Apply to All Trades: Manage positions across all symbols and Magic Numbers or restrict to a specific Magic Number.

  • Error Handling & Safe Modifications: Uses OrderSend() with checks to handle SL/TP modifications.

2. Requirements

  • Platform: MetaTrader 5

  • Account Type: Any account that supports hedging or netting (EA can adapt to both, but typically tested on hedging).

  • Symbol Compatibility: Forex majors, minors, metals (especially Gold), indices, etc.

  • Minimum Balance: No strict requirement, but standard margin rules apply for open trades.

3. Input Parameters

  1. Breakeven Settings

    • TP1_Pips : The distance in pips from entry to consider as the first take-profit if the position does not have an actual TP.

    • TP1_Activation_Pips : Distance in pips to consider the target “hit”.

    • Breakeven_Buffer_Pips : Additional pips above the entry price to place SL at breakeven (for buy) or below entry (for sell).

  2. Trailing Stop Settings

    • Trailing_Stop_Pips : The distance in pips that defines how “far behind” price your Stop Loss will trail.

    • Trailing_Step_Pips : The minimum price movement in pips before trailing stop adjusts again.

  3. Gold-Specific Settings

    • Use_Gold_Specific : Set true to use special parameters for Gold.

    • Gold_TP1_Pips : The default TP1 pips to use for XAU/GOLD.

    • Gold_Breakeven_Buffer_Pips : Breakeven buffer for Gold.

    • Gold_Trailing_Stop_Pips : Trailing stop distance for Gold.

    • Gold_Trailing_Step_Pips : Trailing step for Gold.

  4. General Settings

    • Apply_To_All_Trades : If true , no Magic Number filter is used; the EA manages every open position on your account.

    • Magic_Number : Only used if Apply_To_All_Trades is false.

    • Slippage : Maximum slippage in points for order modifications.

    • OrderComment : Custom comment used when modifying orders.

4. How to Use

  1. Drag-and-drop TradeManagerEA II onto a chart in MT5.

  2. Configure the Input Parameters according to your preference.

  3. Allow AutoTrading.

  4. The EA will immediately scan existing positions and manage them if the conditions are met (magic number, symbol, etc.).

5. Best Practices

  • Test the EA on a demo account first, especially if you trade XAU/GOLD, to confirm the correct pip multiplier for your broker.

  • Use small risk or minimal lots to gauge performance.

  • Keep the terminal open or use a VPS for uninterrupted trade management.
