I remember a week where nothing was working. Same strategy, same rules… but trade after trade just didn’t play out. Not big losses, just constant small hits. It started getting in my head. I began questioning everything — maybe the system stopped working, maybe the market changed, maybe I need something new.
So I did what most people do… I started tweaking things. Changing entries, adjusting stops, adding extra filters. It felt like I was “adapting,” but in reality, I was just reacting to a bad streak. A few days later, I looked back and realized something painful — the original system would have recovered on its own… but I never gave it the chance.
That’s when I understood the difference between a bad system and a bad phase. Every system has drawdown. That’s part of the game. Since then, I don’t touch my rules during losing streaks. I reduce risk, I stay consistent, and I let the edge play out. Because the moment you change everything during pressure… you lose the only thing that makes you profitable: consistency.
So I did what most people do… I started tweaking things. Changing entries, adjusting stops, adding extra filters. It felt like I was “adapting,” but in reality, I was just reacting to a bad streak. I remember checking my phone first thing in the morning, still half asleep. I opened the charts… and saw a move I “missed.” Big move. Clean. Exactly the kind I’ve been waiting for. Without even thinking properly, I jumped in late. No plan, no setup — just the feeling of “I can still catch something.”
