difference between MQL5 and EX4?

mq5 for metatrader 5 and  .ex5 for compiled file

mq4 for metatrader 4 and  .ex4 for compiled file

So how do you download an EA? (What does 'from market or code base' mean?)

When I try and dowload any EA's, from MQL list, I get it into a MT4 platform and when I click on Expert Advisors, it isn't there?!

In MT4 error codes have descriptive strings. They would get updated if/when MT4 updates pushed to our installs.

As I understand it, above is not the case for MT5 and user must download.

What if MT5 updates, it could be that error codes/strings change and need to download new .mqh (if MQ keeps this file in synch...) but how I know to update?

Is it better to have .ex5 lib setup like MT4 or just #include ErrorDescription.mqh ? (eg, due to speed/memory considerations)

Hi guys,

Can I ask what EUR/USD.m is please?

Obviously I know the currency pair is Euro vs US Dollar but I don't know what the ".m" extension is that shows up on MQL5 compared to just the EURUSD. Is it something Metaquotes made up or something else I should probably already be aware of?!

No doubt it's obvious and I'll feel stupid when I know but I can't guess what it is right now?!

It's your broker who set the symbols name, so you have to ask them.
