I'm also inclined to trend lines, but I don't really understand how to draw them. Should I use extrema of the time interval I am working with or a larger interval? For example, I prefer 1 hour, so should I draw lines at the extrema of hourly candlesticks? And draw the line along the adjacent extrema?

Stupid arguments. Listen to Forte. He's got a point there. If you think of it as a casino, you should play poker. The payoff's better.
