А если под успешной торговлей понимать работу со стабильным доходом, то тут уж категорически не согласен. Тот же спортсмен это на след. этапе и подтвердил.

Был такой трейдер-гуру - Виктор Нидерхоффер (можете погуглить - найдется легко). Тоже принципиально и демонстративно стопов не ставил, но рынок все равно расставил все по своим местам.

I, for example, use a buy and sellstop instead of a sl.

Ладно, давайте не будем спорить. У меня лично стопы ставятся автоматом на все ордера, всегда. Я даже их убрать не смогу, если захочу :)
Can you tell me how you do it?
 
Technically, it is done by a separate protective Expert Advisor, which monitors all orders, pulls protective stops and monitors the deposit and has its own stop-out for abnormal situations, with closing of losing and hard trawling of profitable positions. This is all irrespective of the trading algorithm, the trading algorithm has its own stops.

You can play without stoppers, but you can't be sure without stoppers :) confidence doesn't matter.
