I supect this is basically MQ admitting they got it wrong with MT5, the bottom line is if they mess with MT5 its not going to upset too many traders, however if they get it wrong with MT4? well lets face it they cannot afford to get it wrong.
I am not sure that MQ is aware how much are they risking at these times. For one : just look at the number of new code files posted at their site (metatrader 4 or metatrader 5 does not matter). In metatrader 4 section they have 1 or 2 new pieces of code in 2-3 months. What was keeping them afloat is gone and it seems that they are not aware that the error for that comes from them (MQ) not from the users
One very good news : according to Stingo (lead coder of MQ) in the new metatrader 4 we shall still have offline charts (so it will not be like metatrader 5 that does not have offline charts). So far the things seem to be going in a good direction

With all the offline charts possibilities, with alder ex4 files that still can be executed and with downward compatibility, some rewriting (like the fact that you can not name a variable using "." in the name of it) is not such a big "price". I hope that this time they will avoid the mistakes made in metatader 5

Not to many changes in the syntax of the language itself (and the changes are going to affect a minor part of code - those used to C/C++ will have no problems at all) with proper error messages correcting the code to be compilable with new syntax should not be a big problem. Lets wait till the complete new version comes (since for now it is not the complete package) for some final-like conclusions
Seems with mt4 > build 500 you can't now use anything previously decompiled. Is there a fix to get round this problem?
Since that is not an error but a protection ... searching for a "fix" is a wrong term
Anyway, don't worry. With new metatrder 4 decompilation will not be possible (at least they say so) so that problem will not exist
