Trend Line Trader - page 2

Just want to point out am confident the problem this Ea having with Yen pairs has been resolved in ver-1b posted above to those who downloaded ver-1a, would recommend switching to this version, the Ea still needs Volty Channel Stop on jurik for Ea. in indicator folder

Thanks to Peekaboo, found some discrepancies from TLB-rev and TLB-rev-1 hopefully they are corrected in this version, now version TLB-rev-1a. The indicator needed is still Volty Channel Stop on jurik for Ea.

ps) the problem was still there now am convinced its fixed in rev-1b. BTW the idea to reverse the logic usually doesn't work very well in Ea's but in this one it is working very well.

Fwd testing results from rev1b using default settings on 5 minute time frame.

Indicator possible?

Thanks mrtools, this is brilliant.

Would you be able to turn this into an indicator which produces signals/alerts at the entry points?

Cheers,

Hi 4xBones,

Ok here's a first stab at making it an indicator, i combined it with Mladen's new news indicator, the trendline has alerts on a choice of the high or low breaking the high or low trend line or close breaking the high or low trend line.

Indicator?

Thanks mrtools, this is great. Having the news is a nice extra. I'll start playing around with confirmation indicators (as per the rsi you had on your screen shot).

This morning very very early got a breakout alert on gbpusd guess this is way after the fact but got in 1.58480 and out wayyyy too early at 1.57919, but i like it and THANKS A LOT for the idea, for some reason never thought about using it manually.

Hi mrtools, how is going the tests with this EA ? Look's interesting.. can you post more updated statements plz ?

Good Luck

Hi felipebr,

I do not know about statement made by MrTools (as he is mainly the coder) but I am not forward testing the versions from this thread sorry. Because to test/trade it - I need "to feel the system", I should know this system and so on ...

May be - one day I will start trading/forward testing it.

But it is also necessary to select one version ...

So, any suggestions about what to trade/forward test are welcome (and suggestions about the settings too).

Trend Line Trader EA is on this thread. This TLB EA draws trendlines using fractal calculations you can choose either for a 2 fractal trend line or a 3 fractal trend line, the Ea should find 2 or 3(your choice) fractals that line up and draw trendline off that, and if down trend will draw trend lines on highs and on lows for uptrend, if close greater than trendline for buy and less than trend line for sell. There is an option to use moving average for confirmation it is coded is close greater or less than current close then buy or sell. Also the EA can use volty stops for trailing if desired.

TLB_v1 EA is on this post. It is Trend Line Trader EA improved version - added a jurik version of bb stops: if you prefer hardly any jurik just set the length to a low number. Also added an option so like using the ma there is a true or false to use or not.

TLB-rev EA is on this post. Switched the buy/sell logic around on the trend lines and the confirmation Ma's, on the Ma's by default its a ma channel.

TLB-rev-1 EA is on this post. It is improved version with Volty Channel Stop on jurik indicator. TLB-rev-1a EA is on this post. It is improved version of TLB-rev-1.

Tested this Ea for awhile and pretty much settled on usdchf, usdcad, and gbpjpy doing very well but am constantly making new Ea's and testing and not enough resources so kinda put this on the side for awhile, but think it would be a very good candidate for the market condition tool if I ever get the Ichimoku market condition tool coded correctly
