PipMaker v1 - Price action based EA - page 39

I was curious to see how Pipmaker reacted to USDJPY and was surprised to find it did really well until it came to a 1100 pip 'mountain' and died...

However, with 0.1 lotsize and LotIncrease set to false it seems to do much better. It doesn't manage to complete the backtest but restarting from where it failed, it went all the way to the end - pretty impressive I thought!

Request PipMaker Modification

After looking at previous weeks non-trending market, I came to rethink the use of pipmaker as a scalper during these conditions.

Here are some of my conclusions:

Best version is Pipmaker ver9.1

Best settings are using 15min chart with the following settings:

LotIncrease=1

Buy=1

Sell=1

smallestlotsize=0.1 = 1, 0.01 = 2

SmallestLotSize=2.00000000

MaxLotSize=5.00000000

LotSize=0.20000000

LotIncrement=0.20000000

Multiplier=0

ProfitTarget=5.00000000

TrendProfitTarget=5.00000000

SafetyLevelPercentage=400.00000000

SafetyProfitTargetPercent=25.00000000

OpenOnTick=1

Spacing=30

TrendSpacing=30

CounterTrendMultiplier=2.00000000

CloseDelay=91.00000000

OrdersToClose=0

MinimumOrdersToCloseLosing=1

MaxMarginPercentage=40

TrendTimeFrame=15

TrendPeriods=80

CeaseTrading=0

RightSideLabel=1

Best way to use is BUY ONLY or SELL ONLY:

This is pre-determined by using:

1HR CHART JMA 180 PERIOD INDICATOR SLOPE ALERT FOR EUR/USD. (positive slope is buy only, negative slope is sell only)

30MIN CHART JMA 190 PERIOD INDICATOR SLOPE ALERT FOR GBP/USD OR GBP/YEN.

Havn't yet look at other pairs but same logic could possibly used on them also.

I am not a programmer but if someone knows how to modify this Pipmaker ver9.1 to the above logic, this would greatly enhance this expert.

Enjoy

Guys...use Spacing 20 and TrendSpacing 20 it will solve many problems...I am back to the four independent pair and testing privatly...I will post a Journal when I know more...but I am up $167.50 in 24 hours and never see more than 30 bucks in DD on a 2k demo balance..

ES

P.S. Your spacing should be adjusted by the ATR for each pair....for now I just use 20...but later I will adjust accordingly.

How do I get it to trade 0.01 lots? it keeps trading 0.02 lots. What does this mean MaxLotSize=5.0? doesn't mean 5 lots does it?

Thanks

the floatings are really scary

Hi Ron and other friends here,

I'm still wondering and feel so scary with Pipmaker's floatings...

My demo account with $10 000 initial balance, could made growth up to $18 000, but the floating things are now become bigger and it's more than $10 000. It uses default setting as CeroOnda attached in this forum a few pages ago. And Ron adviced me to increase its spacing and trend spacing, and I've change it from its default, 5 become 10, but it's not much different.

Anyway, this kind of trading strategy is so great and so amazing, but is it possible to add some script to make it possible to trade reversely please? Because so far, according to my observation, this EA always open position opposed to the trend, if we could make it in line with the trend then it would be more beautifull...

Thanks guys, and have harder work on this promising EA ever.

Greetings to all of you, Jodie

Is there a guide as to what all the settings mean? what setting controls SL?

I have not been successful at getting the float to stop growing and I have tried several idea's.

I think the thread author published a successfull setting as a starting point somewhere...perhaps he might give us that starting point again...then we can begin out tests over...i cannot find what he used..

How do I make it less aggressive so there isn't so many negative trades in my float. I'm up $18 but -$50 in possible losses

How to use this expert?

Who could give me a helping hand and tell me how to use this expert?

Please get this growing float problem fixed. Seems like a great system
