The latest Hendrick settings are built into the EA.

Now that is cool new feature!!!

Is there any knowledge regarding the fix that was in the pipeline for mode 3? Does that need attended to first? Second I am curious Wackena how much of a difference between your run and the contest run was there? Was it consistent across the whole period? Greg

Greg,

I started my Phoenix EA on Oct 4 on USDJPY. Both Contest EA and my Demo EA have 4 loses. It is a few variances, just as starting on Oct 6, Contest EA had 4 sells in a row, my Demo had 3. This week, my Demo opened an order when Contest did not. Here are spreadsheets for comparison.

Hi there,

I am now using the Build200 with the FXDD demo.

After I d/l the historical data and started the Strategy Tester, I am not allowed to input into the "From" and "To" space anymore. Does anyone also encounter this ?

If so, how can I select the period that I would like to backtest?

Regards

Wilson

Mode 3

Hello everyone,

I am back from some travels and have caught up on the posts to date.

I see there are questions related to mode 3 of the phoenix. I made the original suggestion to Hendrix for how it should work and he implemented it with some tweaks.

The basic intention as I understand it is:

Fundamentally there should be no difference between mode 1 and mode 3. Mode 3 breaks the mode 1 trade up into 3 parts. It sets .5X, 1.0X and 1.5 Risk to reward ratios and manages stops a little more aggressively than Mode 1 to mitigate losses. If you will notice trade 1 has a stop that does not move until it hits the target, but if all three trades hit targets, you should achieve the same level of profit as you would entering a Mode 1 trade.

The valueadd that Hendrick brought into the intent is to establish the aggressive stop management with the intended scaling of trades.

I hope this is clear enough.

Backtesting and tweaking settings

I would be interested to know if there is anyone out there who has any statistical background and understands DOE (Design of Experiments) methodology. I am a 6Sigma blackbelt and have some level of experience in this regard and submit that a DOE of all the variables should be established to determine ultimate settings for the Phoenix. I would be glad to discuss this with someone offline because it could be very technical and I don't want to invite hundreds of questions about why this or why that.

So let me know.
