How To Judge Any Trading Signal On MQL5

A Practical Checklist For Reading A Signal Page Properly, Including Ours.

A signal page is full of numbers, and most people look at one of them, the growth percentage, and stop. That's like judging a car by its paint. Here is a checklist for reading a signal page more carefully, built to help you spot the difference between a signal that's genuinely holding up and one that just looks good in a screenshot. Use it on any signal you come across, and use it on ours too.

One: How Long Has It Been Running?

A few weeks of results prove very little. Markets change, and a signal needs to have lived through different conditions before its history means much. Check how long the account has existed, and be wary of anything that looks impressive but young.

Two: Is It A Real Account?

The signal page shows whether the account is real or demo. Real money behind a signal is the minimum standard, and a demo account tells you very little about how trading behaves under real fills and real emotions.

Three: Look At Drawdown, Not Just Growth

Growth shows how far an account went up. Drawdown shows how much it gave back on the way. A signal with strong growth and a deep drawdown asks a lot more of a follower than one with modest growth and shallow dips. Ask yourself honestly whether you could sit through that drawdown without panicking.

Four: Compare Average Win To Average Loss

A high win rate can hide terrible math. If most trades win small and a few lose big, one bad sequence can erase months of progress. Check both numbers together, and treat an unusually high win rate with a lot of care rather than excitement.

Five: Check How The Trades Are Sized

Look at the trade history for lot sizes. Positions that grow steadily larger after losses are a classic sign of doubling down, which can make a chart look smooth right up until a long losing streak arrives. Consistent sizing is a healthier sign.

Six: Watch Deposits And Withdrawals

Money added or removed during a good stretch can change how the percentage numbers look without changing how the trading itself performed. A prop firm account removes that question, since the balance is set by the firm rather than adjusted around a strong run.

Now Use It On Ours
