One Week After the Mother Superior 3.03 Update — Mother Is Mothering
It has been one week since the Mother Superior 3.03 update moved into live testing, and so far Mother is mothering.
Current live snapshot
- Verified time-weighted return: +8.91%
- Closed trades: 14
- Win rate: 85.7%
- Active contributors: seven of the eight modules
The result is not being carried by one lucky module. Seven separate strategy IDs have already contributed, which is one of the main things I wanted to see during the first stage of live validation.
How the recovery behaved
During the first week, gold produced an adverse move of roughly $120. The system added only one DCA position near the top, and the basket worked through the move without much drama. That was more useful to me than another clean winning trade because it gave me an early look at the live recovery behaviour.
Mother Superior is built as a portfolio of eight independent recovery modules. Risk controls include optional built-in equity protection and a configurable limit on how many baskets or trades may remain active simultaneously. I track every module separately by magic number while also monitoring the combined floating exposure of the whole portfolio.
The drawdown matters more than the pretty curve
A recovery system should be judged on equity, not only on closed balance. The live account has already recorded a higher percentage equity drawdown than the historical 12.82% figure. The working equity on this test account was deliberately small after a withdrawal, so relatively modest floating amounts created larger percentage swings. That explains part of the number, but it does not make the drawdown irrelevant.
This is exactly why I am watching live slippage, correlated exposure and floating basket behaviour more closely than the win rate. The bootstrap and backtest results are useful starting evidence, but the live equity curve is the real filter.
What stays frozen
The strategy parameters remain unchanged during this forward observation. I am not adjusting entries or recovery settings in response to individual trades. The purpose of this account is to see whether the original logic continues to behave as designed under real spreads, swaps and execution.
One week and fourteen trades cannot prove a long-term edge. They can only show that execution is working, several modules are contributing and the recovery logic has begun to face real market movement. The difficult regimes will provide the meaningful test.
Recommended capital: at least $1,000 for a 0.01 starting lot. The required balance increases with the selected lot size.

Mother is awake. Now I want to see how she behaves when gold stops being polite.
