Berylis Gold Storm PRO does not buy or sell gold at the market. It places pending orders at a distance from the price, and that distance is not a fixed number. It is based on ATR. Below: what that means and how it shows in the EA's behavior.

ATR in one paragraph

ATR (Average True Range) is the average distance the price travels per bar over a recent period. If ATR on gold is large, the market is moving fast. If it is small, the market is quiet. It does not show direction, only how much the price is moving right now.

The orders: Buy Stop above, Sell Stop below

The EA places a Buy Stop above the current price and a Sell Stop below it. A Buy Stop opens a position only if the price rises to its level, a Sell Stop only if the price falls to it. The EA does not guess the direction: it waits for the market to choose one. The open question is how far from the price to put these levels. That is the ATR-distance.

Why a fixed distance is a poor fit

  • Too close on a volatile day. Ordinary noise reaches the level and opens a trade on a random swing.
  • Too far on a quiet day. The price never gets there and nothing opens, even on a day when it makes a full-sized move.

Gold's volatility changes from day to day. A number that fits one morning may not fit the next.

What the ATR-distance does

The distance is calculated from current ATR. When gold gets more volatile, the orders stand farther from the price. When it calms down, they move closer. In both cases the entry requires a move that is comparable to the recent range, not a fixed number of cents.

Orders that the price does not reach expire and are replaced with new ones at the current distance. So the levels follow the market instead of waiting at a stale price.

The distance adapts to volatility. The Stop Loss and Take Profit do not go away: every position is opened with both.

What you can see on the signal

Every trade on the public signal shows its open time, Stop Loss and Take Profit. Open the signal history and compare a busy day with a quiet one: entry times and the gap between entry and Stop Loss will differ.

What we do not publish

The exact calculation is part of our development work. What is public: the order types, the Stop Loss on every trade and the live history.

What it means for you

  • Do not expect the order levels on two different days to sit the same number of cents from the price. They follow the market.
  • Spread and StopLevel matter: a wide spread eats a larger share of a small distance. The recommended conditions are a Raw or ECN account with an average XAUUSD spread of up to 20 cents and a StopLevel (the minimum distance from the price at which the broker accepts a pending order) of up to 30 cents.
  • Several positions can be open at once in a strong move, each with its own Stop Loss. Size your risk with that in mind.

Trading gold involves risk. Losses and losing streaks are part of any strategy. The signal statistics are past results on one account and do not predict future results. For prop-firm accounts we recommend a risk of 1% per trade or less; for a personal account, 1–2%.
