Two SELL Setups, Two Different Endings — XAUUSD and EURUSD, 27 August 2026

On 27 August 2026 I took two short setups. Both came off the Scanner. One lost, one worked.
In the middle of the second one I made an execution mistake and had to fix it in front of the chart.
I would rather write that down than leave it out.
Where the setups came from

The Scanner in Scalping mode: EURUSD.i, M15, SCALP SELL, marked NEW.
I do not sit on one chart and wait. The Scanner tells me where something has just printed across the symbols and timeframes I follow. It never places an order and it never decides anything for me.
EURUSD was the first name it put in front of me.
EURUSD M15 — the setup

EURUSD M15 at entry. Scalping mode: SELL ONLY, Timing BEAR, SELL SIGNAL. Guardian holds the plan on the left.
The Scalping read is two questions.
Context: which side am I allowed to trade? SELL ONLY.
Timing: is there a fresh event on that side? BEAR, with a SELL SIGNAL on the panel.
That is the setup. Nothing else had to happen.
Guardian held the plan:
- Entry 1.16470
- Stop 1.16584
- Target 1.16241
- Stop distance 0.00114 — R:R 1 : 2.01
- 1.00 lot, 114.00 USD of risk
Management was set to BOTH, so Guardian split that one risk budget across two 0.50 lot legs — one on CUSTOM R with breakeven at 1R and a 30% partial, one on FAST. 57.00 USD of risk per leg.
Both legs went in at 12:01.
What EURUSD actually did

0.41R. Partial still waiting, stop still at 1.16584.
It went my way, and then it stopped going my way.
The best the trade ever showed me was 0.41R.
The FAST leg came out first, at 12:07:02, effectively flat: +5.10. Its stop was already sitting at entry, 1.16470.
The CUSTOM R leg never reached 1R. So there was no partial and no move to breakeven — that is exactly what BE AT (R) 1.00 means, and the trade did not earn it. It ran until 16:23:31 and stopped at 1.16584 for −57.00.
Net on EURUSD: −51.90.
The setup was valid. The trade was not. Those are two different things, and I do not go back and rewrite the first one because of the second.
Gold, later the same day

Scalping Scanner: XAUUSD.i, M5, SCALP SELL, NEW.

Smart Trend Scanner, primary signals only: XAUUSD.i, M15, PRIMARY SELL, NEW.
Both modes put gold on the list, on two different timeframes. That is worth opening a chart for.
Two reads, same side

XAUUSD M15, Smart Trend: red Cloud, SELL ONLY, Timing BEAR, confirmed SELL SIGNAL.
On M5, Scalping said the same thing a faster way: SELL ONLY, BEAR, Trend Aligned.
Two modes, two timeframes, one side. I took the short. The entry was still my call.
The 19-second position :)
Then I made the mistake.
Then I made the mistake.
I hit SELL with CUSTOM R still highlighted. BOTH is what I actually wanted, and I had not selected it.
The order went in at 15:45:22 — 0.64 lot at 4586.41. One position, one management style, not the structure I trade.
I closed it at 15:45:41. Nineteen seconds.
It shows +5.12 in the history. That is noise, not a result, and I am not presenting it as a trade. It was a correction.
Thirty-six seconds after the first click, I entered the same idea again — properly.
The re-entry
15:45:58 and 15:45:59. BOTH, so two legs:
- 0.32 lot at 4586.43 — CUSTOM R
- 0.33 lot at 4586.42 — FAST
- Stop 4602.13, target 4554.79
One R was 15.70 points, 502.40 USD on the CUSTOM R leg. The target sat just over 2R away. I sized by risk percentage and let Guardian calculate the lots from the stop distance.
What Guardian did

0.69R. Full 0.32 lot still open, partial waiting, stop still above entry.

Partial done, R latched. 0.23 lot left, and the stop now sits at 4586.43 — my entry.
Gold reached 1R. Guardian closed 30% and moved the stop to 4586.43, my entry price. From that point the original risk on that leg was gone.
The FAST leg kept going. Guardian stepped protection down to 4578.18, and the trail took the leg out at 4578.22 at 16:50:03. +270.48.
The CUSTOM R remainder came back and closed at the protected stop at 17:35:03. That leg finished +139.79 — all of it banked from the partial.

Flat. Guardian back to IDLE, gold trading at 4594.39 — above my entry.
That last screenshot is the entire argument for the breakeven rule. Price came back through my entry once the move was finished. By then there was nothing left on that leg to lose.
The history
All five position rows from 27 August 2026.
Five rows. The gold idea, both legs. The EURUSD idea, both legs. And the 19-second correction.
The rows add to +363.49 before costs. The summary line reads +347.46.
I include the history for transparency, not to turn one session into a performance claim.
What the day actually shows
The Scanner told me where to look. It did not tell me to trade.
TrendCue told me which side was permitted and when a fresh event printed. On EURUSD it read the setup correctly and the market disagreed anyway. That happens, and the stop is the reason it only costs one R.
Guardian applied the rules I set — including the part where it did nothing on EURUSD, because the trade never earned the 1R that would have protected it.
This is one trading session, not a performance study. Trading involves risk, and one positive day does not predict the next result.
