This profile is therefore best viewed as the upper end of Gold Beast MT5 risk and growth settings rather than the default choice for every account.
For prop-firm accounts in particular, the equity drawdown figure is especially important. Always compare the selected risk profile with the firm's daily loss, maximum loss, floating loss, and EA trading requirements.

Why I Use a Long Test Period
Gold has traded through very different environments since 2018.
A long backtest forces the EA to deal with changing volatility, quiet periods, strong trends, reversals, major economic events, and the exceptionally strong Gold movements seen in recent years.
For that reason, I prefer showing the complete January 2018 to August 2026 curve instead of publishing only a short favorable period.
Why Both Balance DD and Equity DD Matter
Balance drawdown measures changes in the closed-trade balance.
Equity drawdown also includes floating profit and loss from open positions.
For basket and grid-based trading systems, equity drawdown provides important additional information about the amount of temporary exposure carried while positions remain open.
That is why both figures are included in these comparisons rather than displaying only the smaller number.

Step 2 - Choose the Modeling Method
MetaTrader 5 provides different modeling modes. The right choice depends on whether you want a faster test or a more detailed real-tick test.
For Faster Testing: 1 Minute OHLC
Select 1 minute OHLC when you want to test the EA much faster. This mode is useful for quicker comparisons, checking settings, comparing risk profiles, and performing repeated tests without waiting for a full real-tick simulation.
For Detailed Real-Tick Testing: Every tick based on real ticks
Select Every tick based on real ticks when you want the most detailed test using the real tick history available from your broker or testing data source.
Real-tick testing requires significantly more data and normally takes much longer to complete, but it should be used for final verification when you want the closest historical simulation available in the MT5 Strategy Tester.
Simple rule: Use 1 minute OHLC for faster testing and optimization-style comparisons. Use Every tick based on real ticks for the final detailed backtest.
Recommended Testing Workflow
A practical way to test Gold Beast MT5 is:
· 1. Start with 1 minute OHLC for a fast initial test.
· 2. Select the Gold Beast MT5 risk profile you want to evaluate.
· 3. Compare the balance curve, equity behavior, profit, and drawdown.
· 4. Once you are satisfied with the selected settings, change the modeling mode to Every tick based on real ticks.
· 5. Run the final detailed test using the same symbol, H1 timeframe, date range, deposit, leverage, and EA settings.
This approach can save considerable testing time while still allowing you to perform a detailed real-tick verification before making your final assessment.
Note: A 1 minute OHLC test and an Every tick based on real ticks test may not produce perfectly identical results. The modeling methods process historical price movement differently. For the most detailed final result, use Every tick based on real ticks.
Reproduce the Test on Your Own Broker
Backtests can change between brokers because XAUUSD trading conditions are not identical.
Spread, commission, swap, contract specifications, price history, execution conditions, and tick data can all affect the final result.
Before using any EA live, I recommend running the Gold Beast MT5 demo in MetaTrader 5 with conditions representative of the broker and account you intend to use.
