MOONDOG EA WEEKLY RECAP | 17–21 AUGUST 2026

+31.42% Market Edition vs +28.86% Dual-ONNX Beta

Two real monitored accounts.
Same broker. Same 0.01-lot set. Same XAUUSD breakout family.
Two very different levels of selectivity.

This week's MoonDog live results offer an interesting comparison between the current Market Edition and the experimental Dual-ONNX Beta.

Both systems were monitored under comparable live conditions:

Broker: Global Prime
Platform: MetaTrader 5
Instrument: XAUUSD
Position-size set: 0.01 lot
Monitoring: Public MQL5 signals

The main difference is therefore not the broker or the lot configuration.

It is how aggressively each version selects its trades.

This recap covers Monday 17 August through the public-signal snapshot taken on Friday 21 August 2026 at 20:12 CEST.

Friday was still in progress at the time of the snapshot, so final weekly figures may continue to update.

MOONDOG MARKET EDITION
+31.42% WEEKLY RETURN
Starting balance: $205.97
Friday snapshot: $270.68
Weekly net profit: +$64.71
Return on Monday starting balance: +31.42%

Closed trades: 25
Winning trades: 20
Losing trades: 5
Win rate: 80.0%
Profit Factor: 6.89
Maximum closed-balance drawdown: 3.08% ($6.41)

The MoonDog Market Edition was the more active system during the week.

It continued to participate in the wider set of native breakout opportunities, taking 25 closed trades across the measured period.

Tuesday delivered the most difficult sequence of the week, but the system remained controlled and recovered strongly when cleaner momentum returned.

Wednesday became the decisive session.

MoonDog Market closed:

11 trades
11 wins
+$62.78

The Market Edition is designed to participate when its native breakout conditions are satisfied rather than aggressively suppressing opportunities.

That means more trades, more exposure to different market conditions, and potentially more losing trades — but also more opportunities to participate when XAUUSD begins to move.

MOONDOG DUAL-ONNX BETA
10 TRADES. 10 WINS. 0 CLOSED LOSSES.
Starting balance: $175.45
Friday snapshot: $226.08
Weekly net profit: +$50.63
Return on Monday starting balance: +28.86%

Closed trades: 10
Winning trades: 10
Losing trades: 0
Win rate: 100.0%
Profit Factor: N/A — no losing closed trades during the measured period
Maximum closed-balance drawdown: 0.00%

The experimental Dual-ONNX version behaved very differently.

While the Market Edition closed 25 trades, the Beta closed only 10.

And during this week's measured sample:

10 trades were closed.
10 finished as winners.
0 finished as losses.

The purpose of the Dual-ONNX layer is not simply to trade more.

It is designed to be more selective.

MoonDog's native breakout engine still identifies the underlying candidate opportunity, but two frozen ONNX models provide an additional decision layer.

When the models do not agree strongly enough with the setup, the opportunity can be rejected.

This week, that additional selectivity produced a remarkably clean closed-trade sequence.

But there is an important point:

10 trades are still only 10 trades.

A perfect weekly win rate is encouraging.

It is not a guarantee of future performance, and it is not enough evidence to declare the Beta superior to the Market Edition.

The purpose of the public Beta signal is exactly this:

collect real trades first, make conclusions later.

SAME BROKER. SAME 0.01 SET. DIFFERENT BEHAVIOUR.

This is what makes the comparison particularly interesting.

Both monitored accounts use:

Global Prime
XAUUSD
MetaTrader 5
0.01-lot set

So this is not a comparison between one account running large lots and another running conservatively.

It is not a comparison between two completely different brokers.

It is a comparison between two versions of the MoonDog decision process running under closely comparable conditions.

The Market Edition participated more.

The Dual-ONNX Beta filtered more.

And this week, both approaches finished strongly positive.

THE NUMBER THAT NEEDS CONTEXT

The headline weekly returns are strong.

But there is something even more important than showing a big percentage:

showing where the profit actually came from.

Most of this week's performance was generated during Wednesday's momentum expansion.

The Market Edition generated +$62.78 on Wednesday.

The Dual-ONNX Beta generated +$47.71.

That means this was not five identical days producing perfectly smooth returns.

And that matters.

Real trading does not normally move in a straight line.

There are quiet days.

There are losing sequences.

There are sessions where almost nothing happens.

And sometimes there is one major expansion that produces a large part of the week's result.

MoonDog is designed to participate in that kind of breakout environment.

WHY I PUBLISH BOTH SIGNALS

Because screenshots alone are not enough.

A beautiful backtest is not enough.

One profitable trade is not enough.

A perfect week is not enough.

The objective is to let traders observe MoonDog while it is actually running.

That means showing:

  • winning trades

  • losing trades

  • quiet periods

  • drawdown

  • recoveries

  • high-momentum sessions

  • broker execution

  • spread

  • commission

  • slippage

  • periods where the system simply waits

Both signals are public because MoonDog should be judged from real monitored behaviour, not only from marketing screenshots.

MARKET EDITION VS DUAL-ONNX

The Market Edition remains the current commercial reference.

It is the broader, more active MoonDog configuration.

The Dual-ONNX version is deliberately being treated as a Beta candidate.

Its job is not to win one week.

Its job is to demonstrate whether additional machine-learning selectivity can maintain an advantage across:

more trades, more weeks, different volatility regimes and different market conditions.

If the advantage survives a much larger live sample, the Beta may earn a place in a future MoonDog release.

If it does not, the production system remains unchanged.

The live data decides.

Not one backtest.

Not one screenshot.

Not one perfect week.

WHY MOONDOG?

MoonDog is built around a family of XAUUSD breakout strategies rather than a single entry pattern.

The goal is to identify and participate when gold begins to accelerate — while keeping trade management systematic and predefined.

The current Market Edition remains focused on the production behaviour that is already being publicly monitored.

The experimental Dual-ONNX branch asks a different question:

Can MoonDog become more selective without destroying the underlying edge?

That is what the second live account is designed to find out.

IMPORTANT RISK NOTICE

One strong week does not eliminate trading risk.

XAUUSD can be extremely volatile.

Although both accounts in this comparison are running on Global Prime with the 0.01-lot set, results on another account may differ because of:

spread, commission, slippage, latency, VPS quality, broker execution, account configuration and market conditions.

Losing trades and drawdown are normal components of systematic trading.

The Dual-ONNX Beta's 100% weekly win rate is based on only 10 closed trades and should not be interpreted as an expectation of future win rate.

Past performance does not guarantee future results.

The statistics above were calculated from the public MQL5 balance histories for the stated interval. Friday's figures were recorded at 20:12 CEST while the trading day was still in progress and may therefore update afterward.
