PingPong Grid Recovery

PingPong Grid Recovery is a fully automatic grid-recovery Expert Advisor with a live on-chart control panel. It trades a single symbol (designed and tuned for XAUUSD) by alternating BUY and SELL positions between two fixed price levels until the basket reaches a small combined profit target.

IMPORTANT - READ BEFORE BUYING: this EA uses a martingale-style lot escalation. The lot size doubles at every recovery level and there is no fixed price stop-loss. Built-in margin protection stops adding positions when the margin level is low and can close the whole basket at a loss before a broker stop-out, but it cannot remove the risk of large losses. A strong one-directional move can produce very large floating losses. Trade it only with sufficient capital, on a HEDGING account, and test on a demo account first. Past results do not guarantee future performance.

Recommended account size: at least 10,000 cents (100 USD) on a CENT account, or at least 5,000 USD on a standard USD account. The EA is designed for cent accounts and for well-funded standard accounts. A smaller balance cannot absorb the recovery levels and is likely to reach a margin call.

How the strategy works

• Level 1: the EA opens a BUY at the base lot. This price becomes the "Level 1 anchor".
• The "Level 2 anchor" is placed below it, at the distance set by the grid step.
• If price falls to the Level 2 anchor, the EA opens a SELL at double the previous lot.
• If price returns to the Level 1 anchor, the EA opens a BUY at double the previous lot, and so on. The EA ping-pongs between the two anchors.
• As soon as the combined profit of the whole basket reaches the target, every position is closed and a new cycle starts.
• A maximum number of levels is available as a technical safety valve. It is NOT a stop-loss: when it is reached the EA stops adding legs and holds the basket.

Lot growth with the default multiplier of 2.0 (base lot 0.01)

Key features

• Fully automatic: opens, manages and closes the whole basket by itself.
• On-chart panel: equity, floating P/L, grid level, gross lots, next trigger price, distance to trigger, projected next lot, anchors and a progress bar of basket profit versus target.
• Anchor lines and level arrows drawn directly on the price chart.
• Session filter: new legs are opened only inside a time window (default 16:00-22:00 IST, the US session). An existing basket is still closed at target outside the window.
• SIMULATE mode: the EA starts in simulate mode by default, so no real orders are sent until you enable live trading. Click ENABLE LIVE on the panel and confirm within 5 seconds, or set the input to false.
• Margin protection: a new leg is not opened if the margin level after it would fall below a set percentage, and the whole basket is closed if the margin level falls below a second, lower percentage. Both are adjustable and can be switched off.
• PAUSE button (holds the existing basket, opens no new legs) and EMERGENCY button (closes the entire basket immediately).
• Recovers its state from open positions after a restart of the terminal or the EA.
• Automatic fallback between order filling modes to handle brokers that report them incorrectly.

Requirements

• MetaTrader 5 HEDGING account. The EA will not run on a netting account.
• Minimum recommended balance: 10,000 cents (100 USD) on a cent account, or 5,000 USD on a standard USD account.
• Recommended symbol: XAUUSD. The grid step and target are set as price distances in USD, so other symbols require adjusting them.
• Low-spread, fast-execution broker and a VPS for continuous operation.
• Enough free margin for the deepest level you allow. Reduce the maximum levels or the base lot on smaller accounts.

Input parameters

• Level 1 lot size (default 0.01) - lot of the first BUY.
• Lot multiplier per recovery level (default 2.0) - each new leg is the previous lot multiplied by this value.
• Price distance between the two anchors (default 1.0) - grid step in USD.
• Close whole basket at this combined profit (default 1.0) - basket profit target in ACCOUNT CURRENCY. On a cent account the account currency is cents, so enter 100 to target 1 USD.
• Safety valve - max levels (default 20) - maximum number of legs. Not a stop-loss.
• Magic number (default 773311) - identifies the EA's own positions.
• Max slippage (points) (default 30).
• Retries per filling mode (default 3) and Delay between retries (ms) (default 1200).
• Start in SIMULATE mode (default true) - no real orders until live trading is enabled.
• Minimum margin level to add a leg (default 300) - percent. A new leg is not opened if the margin level after it would be below this value. 0 switches it off.
• Emergency margin level (default 120) - percent. If the margin level falls below this value, the whole basket is closed. 0 switches it off.
• Use session filter (default true) - open new legs only inside the window below.
• Broker server GMT offset (default 3.0) - set this to your broker's server offset. It varies by broker and some brokers shift it for daylight saving. A wrong value moves the session window.
• Session start / end hour and minute, IST (default 16:00 to 22:00).
• Panel corner, X and Y offset - position of the on-chart panel.
• Draw anchor lines and level arrows and Enable panel animations - on-chart visuals.

Notes

• Please test on a demo account and in the Strategy Tester with your own broker's data before trading live.
• Each copy can be activated on a limited number of computers. Moving the EA to a new PC or VPS uses one activation.
